Here's a better shot of my Rocket Garden.

On another note, I bought a Shanghai Dragon 1/48 Shenzhou/Chang Zheng 2F booster. I predict it will soon be a collector's item.

Cool. I used to have a bunch of models in my closet that I had gotten when I was too young to really be capable of putting together. By the time I was old enough to fully appreciate them, my mom had given them away... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

I always wondered why they had to print "USA" "united states" and the US flag a douzen times on every corner of the shuttle.. if aliens ever capture one they'll think we're from the planet united states!

The same reason "United States of America" is used on government aircraft. It's a means of identification, both for identifying pictures of it, and in the event one were to crash.

Keep in mind the Soviet Union had also built a shuttle that was very similar to the American version.

The real reason why have the flag on any ship (sea or space) is because both sea and space are international. The flag identifices the ship as property of the United States.

(The other reason for having the flag on sea based ships, is the same reason for any military vehicle, to identify it as U.S. to avoid friendly fire).

It's also kind of like a decal of sponsorship. You know, like how race car drivers have decals of their sponsors, and the biggest sponsor get's to pick the paint scheme and has their logo displayed on the hood. I remember about a yr or so ago, there was a pizza hut logo (or something similier) on either a rocket or one of the solid rocket boosters of one of the space shuttles (can't remember the specifics).

Anyhow, that's just my guess. I'm sure you could probably google it and get a government site that tells why. *shrug*

Well Firefox, as much as we get along...I will put that aside. Those look very nice indeed, I used to have some of those...never quite figured out where they all went. Hehe.
