I can see just fine. But I've always had the problem of being able to see darker levels much better than most people... so dont listen to me.

It wouldn't hurt framerate in the least to detail those storefronts a bit - e.g., instead of having a wall with textured windows, make actual windows.

The lighting is absolutely fine. I remember a few years back I was making a level like this (same texture set and all) and people kept giving me crap about "TOO DARK! TOO DARK!" A level like this NEEDS a dark atmosphere. Great job.

As for the comment of if it's too dark, and not seeing what your killing, not possible unless you modify character templates, which he could do. As for being too dark, I agree. The first shots are too dark. Second set is too bright though. Somewhere in the middle. Not a lot brighter, but a bit... Even with high contrast settings, etc, details are near impossible to be seen. Stores could use some work. Never seen signs together like that, ever... Usually only the letters are lit (And they're not basic text(IE, choose some different fonts)), or they're a lot smaller... Somm off looking seams in the subway... Car's a bit short, and long...
