Well like the topic this is my first model on my first day(of modeling)


its based off of this blue ship, on this pic
(well I used the same pic thats on my cd case)

It looks incredibly phallic. Congratulations. Anyway, it's a nice start, but for a ship you shouldn't use subdivision.

well now that you say it, I'm not going to agrue that it does(or doesn't)

I didn't think it does outstandingly..

but that comment can be said about alot of space ships,

well again I'll have to disagree, for a *real* ship its bad,

but for space fighters it pretty much commen place(look at just about any starwars fighter)

Ok I updated the model,

with the thinner wings
and
the cockpit is what I wanted it to be..(I also tinted it blue so you can see where it is right)

Better or worse?

That looks pretty good. Much better than my first attempts at Wings 3D. It reminds me of some of GoZ's recent tripped out models.

I'm not sure.. wings 3d doesn't give that info,

But I'm going to guess its insanly high

If you select all the faces it will give you a face count in the upper left; then, if you right click to bring up the menu and left click on Tesselate, then again on Triangulate, it will split everything into tris, and since all the faces are selected, you can see the tri count in the upper left.

Looks good for a first model, keep it up..

Your overall shape and proportions are quite a bit off, use Google image search to find reference photos.

The nose cone's a bit longer and much more aerodynamic. Looks cool though, is it easy to do stuff in it?

Just for using Wings3d, I congradulate you on your model. Although I hate Wings3d, I see your doing ok with it, and whatever program makes the user comfortable is the important thing.
