Yeah using 0 Snap to grid is a little... unstable... I couldn't get precise enough with snap to grid on... so that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make, I always can redo the blade too...

Hold shift while you're editing and it'll snap to vertex

Well, there are two ways you could fix that horrifying-er beautiful knife.

1:
cleave it in half, choose the best half, delete the other, then copy and paste, flip, and tadah.

2:
Use a half-descent modeling program.

Did this in 15 minutes. Sorry for posting this but just wanted to show jk what jed can do... if i spent more time on this i'd get even better..

Yes, JED is a nice program, but at the same time, it's used horribly sometimes.

I take it that was all done with 2 cleaves, the rest was extrusion.

While Monoxides was 80% cleaves, and 20% extrusions.

Lastly, I could make a knife identical to that one, fewer polygons, or more, and do it in about 2 minutes. No problem. And I've got one of the weakest modeling program.

3dsmax could pull it off in seconds, litterally.

Dudes, dudes, theres no sense in arguing over this. JED is mapping program. Written to make maps. Its bloody good at that. Yeah, it can do 3d0s, and I do most of my 3d0s in it. But there are just some things that JED cant do, and that other packages (Milky, 3ds) are better at.


BTW, the knife, its got too many polies. Try to clean it up a little.

Jed can do anything.

And, with it's super-grid, it can do many things much better. It's an early generation CAD program, with gaming crap tossed in.

In any situation where I appear to be false, I assure you I am correct. In such a case, it is, in fact, reality that is mistaken.

The only thing I don't like is the fat, wide blade, it looks rather ackward, but not necessarily incorrect or bad.

Oh, and JED can't do everything. It can do a lot, but not everything. And it's by no means fast or efficient.
