Inspired by Sol's "Poem and a picture" here's a poem I wrote a few days ago (except without the picture part).

Lama Sabachthani

Something Given, something Taken
Someone cries out, feels Forsaken
A Crown of thorns placed on his head
And hours later, He is dead
"It is Finished," softly spoken
Something old suddenly broken

Darkly done, the Earth is grieving
Some discouraged, stop believing
Other's rememeber what He's Said
And cast aside their doubt and dread
Crucifiction Foretold by He
It's not defeat, but Victory

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Oh, and since I promised "poems" here's another one I wrote.

Odd-Shaped Tears

Whenever I cry
Instead of teardrops
Letters fall from my eyes

The letters are caught
On blank canvas they fall
Without structure or thought

With pruning shears
I hack away giving form
To these odd-shaped tears

And Now it's done
Will these words ever
Be understood by anyone?

Looks good. I like it.

What ever happened to 'writings?' I had a few story ideas I wanted to work on and submit.

The title of the first one means, "Why have you forsaken me?" Jesus said it on the cross. The whole phrase is, "Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani?" which means "My God, My God, Why have You Forsaken me?" I took out the two Eli's because I thought it was too long with them in there.

And, Dsettahr, Writings is on ... vacation? until further notice, because I don't have the time to devote to it to make it what it should be, because of college. Feel free to email me your stories though. I love to read other people's stuff, and maybe we could do some sort of informal "Writings Massassi Post," with like 4 or 5 things from people... I've got a story I'll be posting here later once I get all the kinks worked out.

More:

A Lover's Quarrel (unfinished)

A crack rings out as palm meets face
Reeling back from the disgrace
Stings like fire, but not the blow
"Get away!" you scream. I turn and go

Now I sit here contemplative
Heart and soul is darkly shaded
A tear runs slowly down my face
How I hate being in the place

Tomorrow I will go to you
Ask if we can work it through
And pray to God that things will mend
I'm sick and tired of this trend

Probably will be another stanza, but it's not ready for public viewing yet

Ode to a beauty on the bus
Beauty sits before me
And I'm content to gaze
If I could only say hello
But I can't get past this haze

Any stop now could be hers
She'll leave before I win this fight
Beauty slipping through my grasp
As I just sit here, gaze, and write
