So I was bored and pulled out a strand out lights and hooked up my mostly lame Lego Vision Command Camera and took some close up pictures. What surprised me though, was how good most came out. Not as good as they would with a REAL camera (like I want for christmas) but still, I think they're good.

Clicking the little pictures takes you to a bigger one.

Then for added kicks, I attempted to make a panarama. It somewhat succeeded.

So, yea. Comments? Flames? Donations to the "keep me not bored" fund?

Just go take more pictures of stuff, especially stuff that could get you into trouble. That'll kill the bordem, and give you bit of a rush [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

How about a Panaramic view of your room? Quite easy. Put your camera on a stick, have it face north (wherever that is), then click, turn 90°, click, 90, click, 90, click, and put together on one MOV file! Or just make a movie where you cycle through the pictures...

That only works if the camera has a 90 degree FOV, which I don't think most cameras have.

Actually, that'd be easy enough to do. You'd have some blurry pictures though if I don't want to bother with the evilness that is focusing. It's hard to find the sweet spot. My Lego camera can be fitted on a stand that lets me turn it (depending on cable restrictions, evil USB) about 250 degrees and pitch it (again, depending upon cable restrictions) 90 degrees up and down. Those measurements are the medians if the cable is factored in.

So, if I wanted to, all I'd have to do is stick the stand on a tripod and snap a photo, go to the computer, find a reference along the edge and grab another. Although, that'd get a bit tedious and annoying considering the computer would be in a different room. That being said, the motorized stand might be a better choice since I can use it remotely (thinking aloud is fun).

All in all, I can do it, it's just time consuming either way. Hell that being said, I'll do it tomarrow. I'm having an exceptionally boring weekend.

Lego Mindstorms is a very cool thing, it's just not really made for the purposes I'm using it for.
