Not bad, although the hole looks a little funny, can't place my finger on why though. Curious, where did you learn to do bricks like that? I've been trying to teach myself how to do textures without any luck.

Very good, but IMO, there should be white concrete inside the holes.

I dont know what i was thinking putting bricks behind bricks, but i will work on that texture and make the hole look more realistic as well...

Take away or decrease the filter you put over it. It makes it look wavy, like a liquid.

High Pass.
Adjust Hue/Saturation...
Sharpen.

Just three little steps and your texture is already 100x better.

I'd disagree. I prefer his original, with one slight exception, the overlayed dodge/burn's. Just don't look right. Perhaps lower the contrast, and readjust the saturation, and overlay a slight noise. (Monochromatic, lighting methods or screen, depending on how it looks...) Decreasing the contrast will help rid the image of that weird lighting. Normal brick won't vary that much. And noise adds a rocky sorta feel to it. Some cracks etc might also help that.

Ooh, and I notice something about those holes that bothers me. The edges are to soft and smooth. Apply sharpening over the edges of the holes. They wouldn't be smooth like that. And I could see bricks being behind bricks (It is done, just depends on the building) Oh, can I use it, btw? (Modified?)

Umm.. what? It's practically the same thing 'cept minus 'dodge/burn's' you don't like.

They're pretty good.. but the waviness of the bricks looks odd.

Those look perfect for use underwater, for two reasons: 1) The waviness is kinda like the refraction of light caused by waer, and 2) The dodging and burning kinda looks like the highlights and shadows projected by water to shallow depths.

Well, it won't tile very well because it gets lighter on each side of the texture so it will look like its repeating.

Those are nice, my only complaint is that, shouldn't the bricks/holes be a bit dirty? usually if there are big holes in a brick wall, they werent broken off on purpose..usually from wear and tear or OMG TEH BOMB!

the second one looks like it's false brick over sheet rock, doesn't seem right, dark brown or something (or dark gray)

That because bricks are a few inches thick and it'd be tough to give that impression with a texture. Except for the holes, it all looks great

He's tried, on the bottom hole, on the right, to give the impression of more depth. Unfortunately, the bricks are uhm, symmetrical... definitely not natural looking. Needs a bit more randomness, and rockiness...I think. the streaks of light look odd, as does the symetry.

If you want to make them better, start with just a base texture, could be something you've made, or gotten, should be simple, little difference in color or light. Over that add the important edges, highlights and shadows. Add other details after that. Suggestion, but that's the common way, I believe.

Like i already told ya, way too linear. Bricks arent perfect rectangles. Try a combination of this and your last attempt.

A bit too linear, try degrading the edges a bit. Keep the edges, but destroy them a bit, mess them up slightly. Also the grain is too patterned. Guess partially from your source, but the pattern's noticeable. Just a lot of work and practice. Quite a few of the textures I've seen in your levels look decent, not great, but pretty good.

Lot's better. Next suggestion I'd make would be to perhaps do is apply a slight texture to it. Right now it feels very 2d. Hmm. JPG screwed up for me... Mind if I use some of those first ones for a level?
