Gameplay is frantic, to say the least. The magsealed surfaces can be your best friend, or kill you.. it all depends on how well you can dodge your own shots.

This map was a new experience for me on several levels, and hopefully I can use some of the ideas for my JA projects. Speaking of which, I shall now return to my current JA projects... pics might start surfacing soon.

Kinda bland really. Not a whole lot in it. Unless you wanted it that way. Other than that it looks pretty good.

You must not know what JKA is... if you did, you would probobly think that would be one of the most fun arenas to play in. But then again, you might know what JKA is, and think that level looks like a stinker. Anywho, nice level Blood Asp.

This map doesn't look much fun unless you were to play with sabers only (which wouldn't be the point of having a JKA). There are no obstacles, things to hide behind, or any way to use the environment strategically. 2 guys running around shooting each other doesn't sound like much fun when it's obvious that little strategy will need to be involved. I may be no expert, but this doesn't look much like what many people would want in a JKA map. I think that this is the opposite of what many people, including myself would like to see in a JKA map, but then again, I'm usually in the minority around here.

That being said, the level looks pretty decent and the concept is quite good. I just think that the level looks incomplete. This isn't anything like the other JKA maps that are being featured, and I'd be suprised if this made it into the pack if left as is (but it wouldn't be the first time).

Uh.. it's not just a box. The entire dueling area is magsealed, and those little ridges on the floor make rounds go every which way... so you stand a good chance to kill yourself if you just let loose on the repeater without really aiming. There's an illusion of constant acceleration in the map. This causes projectiles to fall back down on you, not to mention you can't jump as high. So for instance, you can lob rails at people like a mortar round. Also, thanks to GhostOfYoda, there's a nifty cog that toggles the glass floor on and off (toggled by the host only). I've also added a new observation area to allow players to watch the duel if they choose not to use the rotating cameras.

It looks simple, but I assure you it's not.

Instead of stopping with this map and trying to squeeze out another JKA map idea, I decided to just dump as much into this map as I could. So I suppose the map isn't "done" anymore.

Now THAT sounds much better. My apologies for jumping the gun, I can tell that you've put more thought into the gameplay than was evident just by looking at the map. The entire concept is very creative/unique and the bit about the glass toggling on/off adds an interesting strategic element (as well as it all being magsealed).

It would be rather interesting if the glass could be toggled on/off or set to random (where the host could hit a button similar to the on/off switch and different areas of the glass would disappear/reappear at random). Either way, disappearing glass can only be a good thing. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

You are right...I stand corrected. I'd tweak that sucker up until the deadline though, you never know when you'll think of something new.

Anywho, I'm out of town until Friday afternoon. I'll finish the last little bits of the map easily before the deadline. Thanks to all the people who beta tested and gave suggestions. It really made a difference in gameplay.

And oS: I've made a map, I'm just having a few technical "hitches" and bugs to iron out of it. Should be ready in time, though.
