I've still been working on my animation tool, codenamed "Dragon" :

I'll say it slowly - no, those are not my models - I wrote a program to playback/create animations in the native outcast/academy format.

I'll write up a FAQ or info page someday about it, and put it up on my site.

LongStoryShort: XSI and MAX have a beee-autch of a time getting animations from their individual programs in to the right format for use in outcast/academy, which is a huge problem.

On the flipside - an animation program that is FREE to get and use AND works in the outcast/academy native format, is a problem to make (since it doesn't exist), but would make it easier to get animations from the program to the game.

The other bonus of writing your own program is that you can attempt to add any feature you'd want.

Comments, recommendations, suggestions?

You sort of lost me, but it looks awesome, and if it allows people to create animations in something other than XSI, I'm sold. Release pls thx.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

The first two are animations found in the _humanoid.gla, the third was trying to make the Stormtrooper hold his rifle without burning himself - like in the movies (from memory, I saw a pic from ep 5 and it's apparent that sometimes stormies lead with the other leg - oh well)

Overall, I'd say my goal is to make posing the characters as friendly as ... posing a stikfas.

Got the anim exporter working and made a single frame anim (which is about all it can do right now) and made it display in ModView - for some reason ModView appears to be scaling the blaster by the animation file's scale, which makes it veeeeeery small. Also, the model isn't vertex lit in Modview, which makes it nasty-tacular.
