Remeber what happened to the last 3do Island level. It made it into the MLP and there were some errors with it.. This is why I don't trust 3do's as architexture.

Looks good, but could definitely use a bit of sand. I don't picture a beach as being entirely rock. You can keep the cliffs but make the flatter areas down by the ocean sandy.
That is, unless this is a beach on Mars. Then you could have some alien AI running around.

New textures, and I think it would be cool as an Invasion CTF level or whatever were you capture the control points or whatever

Something seems out of place. Like the water is a finer texture than the land. That might be it.

Looks great, but like they're saying, the land needs better textures. Right now it's just a red and brown mess. You need to texture it at least with the color variation you'd see in real life. You know, on steep inclines make it more rocky, flatter parts grassy or with more dirt. More sandy near the water. Maybe some worn paths, that kind of thing.

I don't know about texturing in JK, I've been out of it for a while, but can't you use multiple texture maps on it? if you split it into 4 separate textures you could have twice the resolution, you know?

Also, if it's a 3do the lighting is kind of tricky, right? You could always embed shadows and lighting into the texture itself, once you finish the map. I'm not sure how lighting would work exactly...

I agree with the terrain. Good terain but bad textures. Make the textures a little lighter and smoother and you got your self some Mars sand.

you need to change the scale on the terrain texture... it is scaled up far beyond the rest of the textures used to the point where the normally-scaled textures look too detailed.

WOW! It's really come a long way from the first shots. I'd suggest scaling the terrain texture down too, lightening the dirt a bit, and then mapping some greenery to the hills. The water looks FAB, but it doesn't go out far enough for a real looking horizon. /my input

This is awesome though! Excellent work.

Cavey, what size grid are you using? 64x64?

that BF1942 part was harsh A person. Anyway, can't you little boxes that are a bit long on one side. Like a PT boat? Or are you planning to make those move. Because it WOULD make it look more pretty. And the beach might look better if you had sand up to the end of those tank traps. Just suggestions.

On the PT boat, with some pretty editing it'd look better than BF 1942. :P

Looks awesome, although the sand is a big eyesoar. Get a new sand texture, or make the transition from rock to sand smoother. Other than that, I've never seen anything like this on JK. Great work.

I think you need a detailed map-specific terrain texture. make it big, make it detailed, and then cut it up into pieces. That way you can have smooth transitions and proper changes in color and texture depending on slope, height, and location.

Cavey, that sand makes a lot of difference, however my suggestion is for a 'fade' from sand to hill texture. Like combine the two and do a gradient or something, then map it. And personally, I'd say green grass hills would look better, but that's just me.

My best suggestion would be get ahold of Bryce if possible, or if not, Terragen (freeware). Import your heightmap, and get a render from directly above. Take this, and make it into your texture. (It shouldn't be just one texture... 16 would probably provide good detail...) as for mapping it... go ahead and use ForceRemap, but first cut your 3do into seperate layers for each of the seperate textures. In the case of Terragen as a renderer, I'd suggest two renderings, one with sand, and another with a rocky texture, and do the transitioning in an image editor. As for style, my best suggestion on where to look would be UT Assault map "Overlord", which is based on the same thing, but of course had professional texture editors, and the advantages of the engine in a level of this type.
