*sigh* if only JK had shader possibilities.

Looks Naboo-ish, and that's a good thing.

I wonder... would it be possible to right a plugin for JED that allowed the use of Simple shaders? You'd probably have to go about it a bit differently that Q3 shaders of course... but is it possible?

You wouldn't be able to do much with it. Cogs is pretty much a shader, (and a bunch of other stuff) but there are severe limits as to what exactly you can do with just a texture and a surface.

BTW: Is that tatooine? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Looks good so far.

Ground texture doesn't fit.

What are you talking about? that texture fits perfectly.

More tropical sex with added palmtrees;

I love the sky (and sky flags), but otherwise, this is far worse than many of your other levels, merely with swank (though near-solid and in some cases simplistic) textures. :/ You definitely need to add a lot more detail.

I know it's not my best work, but I felt like trying something different this once. It doesn't look as good because it's not the kind of thing I'm used to doing, but at least it doesn't suck. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

He's right, the ground texture is crap.

Genre-testing, then? Alright, I'll buy that. At least it isn't another platform-hopper. ;] And it has potential. The floor texture rocks (I have to say that because I used it in RoX), but you might want to consider scaling it down a little. And I don't know if it jives all too well with the rest of the theme.

Yeah I don't like it either. It's too dark, and perhaps a bit too busy to fit it's surroundings.
2004-01-13, 2:54 AM #14
I agree that it'd look much improved without the darker floor texture. Have you tried out the sand one? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Otherwise, pretty good start.

It needs more abyssal backgrounds and floating platforms.
