Heres one of the new duel levels that WOULD be released if Massassi was still up, but u can dl it here.

http://john.andysite.com/JKIII/sj16duel1.pk3

It's a skatepark carved into a cargo ship, constantly inverting in a magnetic reactor, adding a huge twist to the X-Games. OR Whatever. It's also a tribute to all teh duelists I've fought on BWN servers. Over 200 names or pictures are displayed throughout the level. One might be you. You can slide on the rails and the roll-in. After 3min 10 sec of dueling, the map mood changes into something more action like... and adrenaline...ful...? Enjoy.

And I know the screenies are dark, and I know there isnt power-duel support for some reason. This is the first level I have released in YEARS. I just needed practice before the levelsource contest. I have one more level I am completing as we speak to release later tonight - SkaterJohn16's Factory. I'll keep u posted.

*bangs head on desk*

The file-server is down.

Also, that map is pretty bland, I'm afraid. Not much detail in it, and textures tile a lot.

type [-img-]link[-/img-] without the (-) dashes.

The levels look like JK, and the use of JA's (JO's?) lighting is abscent.

Think about your library, and how the building is shaped... how the exterior looks, how the interior looks... that's usually a good base.

Ok. Maybe that level was a bit JKish. ITS A FIRST FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Pretty... Squarish too.. Not too mention it was my first time with the newest version of radiant. I hope this one is better.

http://john.andysite.com/JKIII/sj16duel2.pk3

The factory duel. Better lighting, and lotsa stuff to play with. Light the rocket under the huge stairs for more light... but dont stand on the rocket, unless you want your corpse to be pinned to the ceiling [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]. Cut the wire on the platform, play with the broken elevator, and if you run up the huge staircase, dont stop til u hit the dumbwaiter. Ok thats good. Have fun - more feedback would be nice so i can be a more productive level maker.

And this one DOES work for powerduel.

As far as screenies go, My computer messess them up making them VERY VERY dark. Cant see nothing. I mean, you can turn your monitor all the way up and dilate your pupils and you STILL wouldnt see anything. But I'll post them anyway. So, if anyone wants to volunteer to correct teh gamma for me, let me know. Cus i dont have a program installed to do it now. But I'll do it eventually. It's better to just DL the MUCH SMALLER THAN MY FIRST DUEL 3mb level and play it urself. I'll keep u posted.

On the plus, both of my maps have bot support, if nothing else.

As is obvious, I went for a lot of special effects rather thatn uber archetecture. And my first level does suck pretty bad. But i hope i improved here. Looking forward to the contest.

Here's what they were getting at: Don't release your first level.

Are you using the printscreen button on your keyboard to take screenshots?
[edit]Nope, just downloaded the level myself and your lighting is just way too dark. It isn't your PC making the level dark, you just didn't put enough lights in the level. It's nearly impossible to find anything[/edit]

good news... fixed the pictures...

but apparently cazor has bad news.

it's supposed to be dark... its an abandoned, run down factory. but if it's really that bad, i'll gladly fix it.

It's just too dark. It doesn't matter if it's realistic because it is abondoned, if you are going to make it actually real then it would be pitch black because they dont leave lights on in abandoned buildings. But that sucks for playing video games in.

And as for the 'skatepark'... hrm... there were only 2 things i saw in there that were related to a skatepark, and the spinning neon lights are just annoying. I would say the best part is the burly brawl music.

Sorry if i was harsh... it's just that skatepark level is a waste of internet space. I woulfd definately wait until you understand radiant more and what players like to play in to release a level.

OK. effectively doubled the lighting in the factory (so it looks like the screenshots)

and there are no working lights in the factory. Those are all window lights... 3 of them... except for that little glow that u see behind the wall of boxes... we'll just consider that an open door [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif].

And im not ripping off tmu... lol .... i just needed some kinda action music that wasnt JKA... cus a skatepark is definately not JKA.

btw, take your saber to that rocket in the corner by the shower for even more light. it blows part of the roof off.

need some constructive feedback for improvement.

And if i could take back the releasing of my first level, I would.... but i released it on the 15th, b4 the servers went down... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

MAybe i'll just make a version 2 fix

I quite like the factory one. But i'd suggest making the stairs have some kind of supports. Or even better make half of the stairs collapse

Ironically enough, 1/4 of the stairs DO collapse. lol. run up as fast as u can and get to the dumbwaiter for a quick escape route.

I'm easily impressed, and I think that the screenshots of the second level looks very good.

But my opinion is nothing but crap on a wastebasket so meh.
