Here are some shots of a little map I have been working on for a week or two. It is based on on the PA capitol building, which is close to where I live. I used the 360 images at http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/vc/visitor_info/CapitolTour/Rotunda/Rotunda1st/rotunda1.cfm# for most of my reference.

There are a few things I still need to do like finish the lighting and some archi. I also need some statue models to go in a few different spots. Plus I need to make four paintings to go up in the arch(currently gray) sections at the top.
Let me know what you think.

yeah, q3map2 would be a good idea. also, the light fixtures seem relatively large compared to everything else in the map.

Incredibly cool! Is it going to be a duel or FFA?

Those were with Q3map2, it was just a quick compile and bad jpeg compression.
Freelancer, I'm not really sure yet, it's too big for duel I think, but it's kind of small for FFA. The truth is I never play MP so I'm open to suggestions.
Anyway here are few new shots with a better compile and a scaled down light sources:

Man That map is Bull Sh** In a good way. Well anyway I really like the concept. But I suggest you use patches for the curves, and not brushes. But man It's pretty stunning. What you should do is make those marble pillers a reflective shader. And ignore the Q3maptools police. No offense to those who are. Just experiment with the lighting and all.

All the curves are patches. Your probably just seeing a lower LOD. I thought about makeing the marble shiny but all of the gold is already environment mapped and I don't think it would be good to have the entire level reflective, not to mention the hit on my already high r_speeds.
Z@NARDI, the pics should work, they are on the IC, maybe it was down for a little bit.

casper, it's q3map2. q3maptoolz isnt the compiler, and anyone who thinks using SOF2map is still okay... need to be beaten with a stick. I'm glad you were using q3map2, and it was just a quick compile... i would have had to bring out my clobbering bat. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

As for the map, it looks awesome. If you have JA or are planning to get it, i would recommend making a JA version. The glow on the lights would look fantastic, and the lighting in general would look better, but thats still really nice.

I use SOF. And I would use Q3map2. But guess what? I get errors every time I start it up. So thats why Im a SOF nazi. Okay enough beating each other up about compilers and lets talk about the map. The new screenshots look good. But you may want to sharpen and tune up the textures. Other than that I love the detail.

Just out of curiosity, did you ever try to fix the errors? There are at least two or three forums filled with experienced users, and you can even ask the writer at SplashDamage. Don't mean to hijack, but I'm just suggesting you try to fix it before quitting. Because the benefits are just so great.
