I've never done anything with photography, but I decided I'd like to. So about 10 mins ago I ran in my back yard with my craptacular digital camera, and took a bunch of pictures. None of the photo's have been edited. Unless I say otherwise.

Tossed crap in the air, took a pic. looks spiffy though.

Looks like you're focusing in on one thing too much, and maybe you should try the overall picture instead. Also, try to have a theme in your photography--it helps.

Looks nice. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Maybe try to use a non-digital camera.

Picture 1:

Very good blur effect, with the main subject matter in crisp focus. The white of the sky is a very good contrast to the white of the snow.

Tossed Pinecone:

I do not like it, although you got a very unique effect of glowing from the pinecone. Maybe if the background were more blurred or more in focus, it would be a successful picture.

A tree:
Borring. Try zooming in, or lay on the ground shooting up. The pinecones have a good texture, and the texture is repeated throughout the piece. The 'empty' spot in the center and lower right doesnt work. Try cropping and zooming way in.

Rusty old Milk:

My favorite of the bunch, extreamly good texture, contarsted with the bleak whiteness of the (sky/snow) makes for a good image. I like the angle of which the picture was taken, the extreem close up is very nice. The subject is almost unidentifyable, making for an unusual image. Compasition is good, just the right abount of negative space vs. the subject. In my oppinion, the best of the bunch.

Rusty old tub:

Instresting, but not enough. Maybe its because I see 10 pictures just like this every week, I dont know. Try cropping, focusing in on the left side of the image.

=post2=

Bench:

Almost good, but borring. Try pulling your depth of field in, causing the background to dissapear. Would be much better that way.

Woo-duh:

The logs have a very nice grain texture, with repetetion of shape, varying just enough to cause the subject to be instresting. Once again, try cropping to just the top left, leaving out the extream left upper corner.

Side of the barn & edit:

Very good picture. Repetetion of the wooden shingles against the broken window frame is very nice. I like how you can see in the window, but cant tell what else is in the house. I jsut wish the right window wasnt there, I may crop that out.
Edit pic:
Dont like it. Try a sepiatone instead of...whatever the $%^& you did. Good idea, just, I see so much more that could be done.

1st photoshoot, Very successful!
Over all, A+

Umm...nice "nature" photos. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] I didn't think rusty milk containers and barns are natural occurences. Oh well, pretty nice work. The blurring is kind of annoying in the first two, though.

You can't just take an object, snap, and expect to have a good picture. The first pic is pretty nice and original, but the rest are rather pointless. Not only should you include more surroundings, but you need something better than a lamp or a wall for a subject. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]
