A new mech design, made in Wings 3d and rendered in bryce.

This mech is a 30 ton light clan mech, ideal for recon and scouting missions. Max speed: 100 kph, 2 jump jets, 2 medium pulse lasers, and 1 SRM6.

Yet Again, Very Nice. But the backdrop rock looks like a cardboard cutout and what's with the guns - I want big guns, guns way out of proportion to the body (ie make the gunz crazy big)! I want ub3r gunz on this thrill ride! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

On a more srious note, I really am being serious. Make them more like the HellCat, you know those huge boxes above the shoulders that hold about 16 missile slots? That'd be sweet!

Yeah, I was focusing on the model more than the terrain, so thats why I skimped on the background. I forgot to mention that the model is incomplete and I intend to do more work on it tonight. To be fair, you couldn't see the guns on most of the mechs in the games either, but I'll make an exception in this case. The canopy is transparent, btw, you just can't see it with the current angle.

I thought about adding the missle packs on the shoulders, but then it would look too much like the catapult.

Same mech, but I've added bigger guns and fixed the background terrain.

Your model looks MUCH better. However, I would recommend redoing the legs and feet less simplified. The current legs look kinda weak for a vehicle that can move that fast. =P

logically, heavier legs would seem to slow a mech down. The Jenner was one of the fastest mechs in the game and it had thin legs. This one is only 10 tons heavier than the jenner (it was 20 tons if my memory serves me correctly, I haven't played the game in ages), which isn't all that much for a mech.

My other point to a redesign of the legs was that it appears from this angle to be flat, which would be horrible for quick movement. If you're gonna use tiny legs, at least make the joints smaller and not just big cyllinders, that's just bein lazy. =P

I think it rocks Pagewizard, both the terrain and especially the mech, are both far more visually appealing than the first pic. The guns look very nice, and yet seem quite original while the new cockpit is superb. Now you just need a little guy sitting in there waving to us! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

The feet look very lazy. Just popping a cylinder from a flat area makes it look like a nipple. Nipple feet are not attractive on mechs. Angles from the joint to the toe would give it a more full and supported look. As well as toes on either side of the foot to provide more stability.

well, to me it seems the legs that waaaaaay to far back on it making it seem like it should've fallen over by now :P
looks decent, need a better camera angle on it, and it's a nice Stinger/Catapult/Blood Asp love child [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] oh also, what is that cylinder on the nose area suposed to be?

You want big guns? Well, I can think of somethings... Let me paint you some pictures:

1. Sword: a 2" thick handle, with a 2m big decoration, followed by a 5dm wide and 10m long blade.

2. Helmet: 5dm big helmet in radius, with a grill that is 8dm wide and 6dm tall.

3. A cannon that is 1m in diameter, and fires 2m big cannon balls in radius, and you hold it like you would a concussion rifle.

Want me to send pictures of that, or can you picture these things in you head? If you want, please send me a reply through email.
