It's out. The deadline for the Unreal Playground contest is tonight at 3am Eastern/midnight pacific, so I got the map out now because I'm not sure how much time I'll have today... (moving, etc.)

Just played a game of Flurry on a random server with about 13 random people... this is the first time I've ever simply hopped into the server browser of a game (ok so actually I used ASE) and seen a map of mine running... and played a game of it with random people who I have never seen before in my life.

It was awesome. Everything fell together EXACTLY as I had imagined it would, right down to the tank coming under massive fire as soon as someone hopped in the driver's seat... the ion painters were used, but not camped... everything. Coolest feeling ever.

You have to understand that no matter how much you playtest a map, with bots or friends or whatever, you simply can't imagine how it'll play on a random pub server. You have a VERY GOOD idea, but you really have to PLAY the map on some server somewhere. Play it, and watch how people react to things. How they handle situations. How the gameplay progresses from here to there, etc. It all just worked so well I was ecstatic... So cool.

Meanwhile, the thread at Unreal Playground for the Onslaught contest can be found right here... lots of awesome maps so far.
