I have been working on this picture below to get familier with photoshop to so i can work on a digital picture to submit with my portfolio.

Below is a picture I took from grade nine and scaned in, then photoshoped it up.

For starters, I know that I over used the gradiant's for sure, and it's very flat and will be until I figure out shading, but until then, I've got this, she also kinda looks like she is holding the sword wrong in the second last panel as well as her face looks a little two happy, then BAM anger overcomes her...

anywho, it's only a section of a comic book, For grade nine art i drew it as a layout for a comic then draw a page from the comic, there is no other parts, just this page, but still, C&C welcome.

Nice set up, and drawing isn't very bad. I thinks overall it's pretty good.

[edit] In the second to last panel she has a funky lazy eye thing going on.

Kind of a cliché story...

Shading is easy, I don't exactly know how it works in PS, but in Paint Shop Pro you just take the retouch tool, set it to darken RGB and just... well, retouch [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] I'm sure there's a similar tool in PS.

You also might want to get rid of the spelling error in the first frame.

Yeah, the words were kinda rushed as i wanted to finish it for the most part tonight.

The person with the grey hair is suppose to be a woman...I need to work on her more i guess to make her more womanish in the face... and your right about the eye, forgot to fix that, thanks for pointing it out.

Try to make the drawings first on paper. Then scan them with a scanner (DUH!!!) and then color them.

If you dont have a scanner...BUMMER

Sorry, but I hate the art, the Paint Shoppage isn't bad though, but the art could defineatly use a major overhaul, work on your anotomy, or else devolope a more cartoony style..

Thanks for the comments so far, Making me want to scan some of my images of characatures(sp?) of friends i have done and photoshop them up.

The "old man" IS a woman... i donno how anyone could mistake it otherwise, as for the acual art, I agree it's kinda bad. Over fours years old, so you can forgive me there, i've improved much more but i tend to go alot more cartoony right now.
