For the 2 people here that actually own Stronghold... This is a Free Build level. 200x200 for those of you that care.

This is an above view of most of the level, hence the poor quality.


If anyone wants the level just say, and I'll post it. I tested it about 3 times, it seems balanced and fun, with enough space to build in.

(Also I know it says December 1068 at the bottom of the screen, but that's because I was in the middle of playing when I took these shots...and yes I already know Fanelia is a city from Escaflowne (an anime). )

That game looks entertaining. Perhaps you'd like to explain why I've never heard of it, since I like realistic simulators like this?

What's the idea of the game?

And why is your level so small?

Is that for Stronghold Crusaders? I played the demo for that and it sucked and was confusing

It looks pretty good. I'm amused by the idea of the townspeople not knowing what to do and appointing you lord protector.

...where are the enemies, though? And if there aren't any enemies, where's the adversity? I guess 'Free Build' means that you just develop stuff? If so, that seems a little... boring. :/

It's a one player Free Build, which means it's basically see how huge you can make your town. Build stuff etc...


I haven't played Crusaders, which is the expansion. But Stronghold rocks. It's only confusing if you don't take the 10 seconds to learn the controls.


By not knowing, I meant they were helpless without a leader, and since 'I' am courageous and honorable and what not they appointed me as the new leader. I know I didn't type all that but...I couldn't find the right words.


You'd be surprised at how addictingly fun it is! Free Build is just my favorite mode. There are modes where you can kill stuff, or just play the campaign. Multiplayer..whatever :/

Better chalk that up to 3 people. The map looks interesting, but in all honesty "Stronghold" just plain sucked (especially when compared along side it's sequal "Stronghold: Crusaders"
