The first one looks pretty cool.
The perspective in the second one is completely off, which makes it pretty crappy looking.

The first pic looks good for what it is, but its just not the kinda art i'm into.

Work on your perspective. Read some papers about horizon and focus points, etc.

It's done in paint, which in this case makes bad art look like supremely bad art.

Wow it doesn't have to be perfect..

If they were going for perfect than possibly another editor would've been used.

Although a little off, you still get the idea of the perspectives.
