So, Penny Arcade were having a colouring competition where you had to colour this intentionally cheesy black & white character image and you could win some swag.

Now, I'm not even sure if the compo was open for those of us born and residing on this side of the great pond, but I didn't have much anything else to do this weekend and I thought that it seemed like a fun enough challenge.

The deadline was last (American) midnight, so I feel alright in showing my entry that I had sent on Saturday.

Eeh. Wasn't in it for the swag anyway.

I hope they do more art-compos. This one was incredibly fun to do. This was all mousework too, since my sister took "our" tablet with her to England.

The exploding magma/flames/embers and the glow on the ashy rippling smoke was stupidly fun to do. Finally a good reason to make (over)use of the dodge brush.

It was nice to see other people's works too. Some people interperted the background stripes as a cave, others as smoke or flames. Some did really dark and gloomy stuff, others did bright warm colours.

Very cool. i like the added drop of blood on the bottom corner

What the heck? Yours was about five times better than the winnning image, and you didn' even get mentioned! I'd feel sorely deprived if that had happened to me! You truly have a humble attitude, because I think your pic blows the competition out of the water!

While your image is good, there are alot of choppy parts and jagged white lines. mostly on the top left, but some other places. While your picture is very good, I do think the winning image deserved what it got.

Eh, some of the runners up were a good bit better than the winner. Daeron's is definitely one of the best, I saw maybe one or two that were truely better. The background work is simply amazing.
