I like the last one, and somehow, I think Mano would too [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

the rest are a tad blurry, i'd stay away from macro photography if your camera doesn't have macro capabilities or a macro lens.

nice start!

The lighting in the last one is horrid, no offense. Try adjusting it in photoshop.

the rest are nice, but avoid some of those close up shots

The picture of the dog is very attractive, and the phonebook one just appeals to me for some strange reason - I could just imagine it in an advertisement with text over it.

I also agree, the last one is very good. I think it's quite striking and artistic. I could also imagine it with some funny text in that large blank space. Pretty good variety in the pics overall, but I also agree with saberopus that some were a tad blurry. Great job for a first though!

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm using a pretty bad scanner, so that's part of the cause of the blurriness of the pictures. The last one didn't scan very well, it looks much better in the actual picture IMO.

Other than that, yes, I agree there are things that I could improve on. Other than digital pictures this is my first real try at photography and I'm really enjoying it.

Hey Murc, how come your little robot dude isn't on your site? He must be your greatest work - the detail on that creation was astounding. Your website is very nice btw (the Flash design that is), it just needs a bit more content imo.

I'm glad you like the site. Yeah, I really need to get some more content on it. I have the pictures I want to add, I'm just too lazy to add it to the site...

I'll get around to it after finals hopefully.

If you have the money, try and get your hands on a film scanner. Makes it much easier to get photographs onto your PC (unless you're using a digital camera, of course).

I like the second one the best.

I like the subjects of the shots, but they are kind of blurry, and that can make them tough to look at. The last pic has too much dead space in comparison to the subject of the picture.

You should think about taking more than one pic with different lighting and differnt shutter speeds to see what happens. Keep practicing an you'll ge tthe hang of it.
