I should post model statistics, like the polygons, the program, the file type. But you know what? You don't care about that. At all. So, instead. I'll just point you in the general direction.

Check back on that topic, as it'll be changing as the night grows, since I'm working on the player model right now.

Looks good, except I noticed they are all in seperate groups and not welded. Also, you should fix the handle for the DL-44 so the handle is connected to the base. Other then that its good.

That's why it's optional. It has a lot more uses that aren't noticable in model form, but will be in game. But, it'll be similar to a helmet that you'd see in WWII, it just pops off if the user needs more mobility, but it can save your life when it's on.

The neckbrace looks a bit tight, maybe if it were more loose. The reason i say it is because when I got in my car accident they put a neck brace on me, god that sucked. All i wanted to do was sit up and look around, and the thing restrics all movement :P

But yes, optional is good. And I see waht you mean about protection.

Also note that MS3D renders proportions very porelly. A lot of the time, a gun will look much longer than it really is in MS3D's 3D preview. There's probably more space than you'd think, but MS3D doesn't render depth very well. I hope to get these into game tomorrow or the day after, so then we'll see. I don't have much room to expand it though, without moving too far out onto the shoulders. Perhaps I'll find a happy median once I get it working in game.

The FC-1 and DL-44 are very good, as are most of your models [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
From what I can make out of the people, they look nice too.

But the shading is rather rough on those head models and makes my eyes hurt after a while. Just a suggestion, but you *could* quickly export them as 3dos and load them into Zy's 3d Viewer for smoother shading... again, just a suggestion

------------------
for(i = 0; i < 00; i = i + 1) Print("massassi is good");
PrintInt(i); //print the integer value of infinity
May the mass times acceleration be with you.
2004-06-04, 6:30 PM #11
Or I could do smooth shading and get even better results, but flatshade shows details, where the face would be a blob in smoothshade. Plus, it's not textured, so ZY's viewer would show a big white, inverted blob. Either way, ishiness.

I'd like to note, again, that this is a joint effort model. Rutherven's base model, my dressings. I added:

The breast plate.
The Belt.
The Leg Pads.
The Entire Head.
The Shoulder Pads.
The Optional Neck Guard.
The Firearms.

Breast plate eh? Everyone look out! A new bloodspot, they finally found a way to involve guns into rollar durby now!

They're all awesome, and I'm going to reiterate most of what I said on the UR forums. The E-11 ranks second only to the PLX-2M for me. I love that PLX-2M and I can't wait to use it. That, laids and gentlemen, THAT is what the Merr-Sonn in JO/JA SHOULD have looked like.

Nice, but you need to shorten up the FC-1, and maybe make the handle alittle bigger. I don't think the E-11 is true to SW, but it still looks nice.

Both of those were modeled based upon scans I gave him from the Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology. I trust that book quite a bit. Those guns look almost exactly how they're shown in the book. Ignore what you've seen in JK, JO, and JA. We're going for what these things more or less looked like in the movies, or, failing that, what they look like in this book. That's what the E-11 looked like in the movies. That's what the FC-1 looks like in my book.

BTW, if your looking at his screens, I highly suggest looking at the renders instead. http://www.zentatsu.com/ur/renders/ They are quite a bit better.

The FC-1 is NOT too long. I am not going to say it again. It's the EXACT length the weapons and tech book shows it to be. That's what I'm going by.
