"For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."

I know that it's still WIP but the fact that bits of it are line-drawing based and others are contour-free distract me a bit. You should try for one or the other.

your colour choice is very pastel dream-like and soft. I do find that the explosions in the earlier versions look more vibrant and violent, in part due to the colour, yet also due to the randomness. The current blast is a bit orderly, which could be countered with more earth being tossed up along with embers or sparks. You could also have the cloud light itself from beneath and cast some light on the boulder and on your fox-person protagonist. These are, as always just suggestions, which you have absolutely no obligation to follow, being your picture and all.

I look forward to seeing the finished version [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

Daeron, you're an angel [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

The line-based fighters are a leftover from the early (line-based) version, and the lines in the foreground is a sketch layer that I haven't hidden (due to the fact that the protagonist isn't painted yet). I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I agree on the explosion.

Thanks for the helpful critisism!

the dirt is a big improvement, but I don't like the other changes on the mushroom. The background looks greatly improved too, before those houses looked like... ish. The houses still need some... less attention-grabbing-nes. Otherwise, looks good.
