And here you have bullet holes. But not just any bullet holes; bullet holes that are actually "on the walls"! I don't know for sure, but this is likely the first time it's been done this way (without using sprites). And 3do colliding is removed, so no more floating bullet holes from jk making bad collision calculations and hitting droids :).

And you'll also get to look at the current P99 model (textures are still a work in progress). Just for fun, I gave it Bond's tux arms and some nice hands, since 007 != Kyle :)

And we have a bullet counter (for the amount of the clip remaining) and we are improving the HUD.

Yes, I can keyframe, it just takes a while with close to 40 meshes (well, I only have to set up about half for most animations) to get the basic pose for the key; then it gets easier.

Sorry, you're mistaken; I did this (referring to the bulletholes) all on my own.
(actually, I borrowed SM's grapple template from the Datamaster -- that's the only thing that's not mine, aside from the bullethole texture I photoraped from an image on page 3# of a google image search for "bullet holes")

I'll post the cog and template if you don't believe me.

Btw Sajn, jEDIkIRBY made the P99 model specifically for Nightfire (to my understanding; even if not, he's still a modeller for the mod, and I was told he was donating it to the mod). The hands, as you know, are mine (yeah, I tried to pull a ruthven [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] ), complete with modified LEC hand textures to make texturing in ForceRemap easier.

Here's the credits I can remember at this moment for the "illegal" stuff (these are for people not on the editing team -- wow, quite a few):
-reloading code (heavily modified, and refined many times), template base for bullets and their smoke explosions, and current P99 firing sound -- Ben Allen's James Bond mod
-M4A1 current firing sound -- Chad's Anti-Terrorism TC
-bullethole texture -- photoraped from an image at www.theprankstore.com
-Seifer POV cog -- who else but *_seifer_*, and the original resources for it (the cog and template) were provided by clan ruthervain
-Rocket Fire -- the use of the particles is now similar to Zagibu's PWP2 and 3 mods; DogSRoOL, Hell Raiser, EH_AceCSF, jEDIkIRBY, and lucky_jackpot helped me on the Editing Forum with the original particles and also with the idea of having a flame texture on the rocket itself
-Sentinel Guided Rocket -- based on zoom concept by Heideki
-Clip counter -- this idea borrowed from Heideki's Sniper Arena mod
-Idle POV animations inspired by clan ruthervain's Stargate teaser and SavageX's SS3 mod
-Bullethole template base -- SaberMaster

To put it simply, I have not much defense for the texture "theft", 'cause I can't texture worth beans, at least not detailed crap.

Pros:
-Awesome bullet holes (this could really be expanded for things like rocket blasts, and blood stains)
-blood
-The gun model and hand

Cons:
-blood (I'm sure with the bullet hole cog you can make blood splats stick to walls -- It's cool, but needs some work)
-The texturing on the gun model needs a bit of work (hence the WIP)
-The HUD. It's not awful, but looks like an MSPaint job.

I'm personally loving the HUD. It's supposed to look something like the Nightfire one, and it reminds me a whole lot.

Oh, and yeah. I'm modeling for Nightfire, and I modeled that specifically for Nightfire.

Personally I think the hud looks like crap. The thing on the right is good, but the thing on the left is something I can make in paint in less than a minute. It also COMPLETELY doesn't fit with the rest of the hud. The Crosshair is way to thick. make it one pixel thick everywhere (maybe 2 or 3) at it'll look fine.

The general equation follows as such (can vary from individual to individual):
Shwuck + Slow + painful + death = "your lack of purpose being here".

I don't suppose it crossed your mind, Shwuck, that we edit for several reasons:

a) Because we can. Enough said.
b) Because we want to. Also self explanatory.
c) Because we enjoy each other's company. That's what being part of an online community is all about [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif].

Failing that, if you don't have anything constructive to say, the general concensus is "keep your thoughts to yourself". "Criticism" is useful, whether it be positive or negative, as a form of feedback for the editors; usually on how they can tweak and improve various aspects of their mod. Pointless comments like yours serve no purpose for the community, nor the editors who are posting here with aspirations of improving a game that we all love to death. Why else do you think we're here? It certainly isn't to play marbles!

Shwuck, why did you join a forum dedicated to modding an "old, inflexible and outdated game engine" if you're just going to insult everyone that does just that? Leave if you don't like it here. We'll be just fine without you.

Anyways, about the mod, I love it so far. My only gripes are these:

-Why did you use a bullethole that's from a sticker company? On google, I'm sure you can find better-looking bullethole textures.
-The blood is also kinda cheesy-looking, it looks like spray-paint.
-I agree with Tazz on the HUD. It looks MSPainty.

Jo/JA editing is too complicated for my mind.

I thought I could deal with at least modelling but I was wrong... I can only reskin stuff.

I like editing for JK better though anyway, even if the skin list system sucks eggs and there's no bot system compatible with more than 1 person in MP.

Btw, ZOOkies, that's the approximate thickness of the crosshair in the game; It can probably live with one less pixel though -- I'll work on that.

Yeah, ruthervain's working on a mod that'll blow most, if not all, JO/JA mods away (with the possible exceptions of the obvious DF TC and such, of course). If you don't want to cross someone, it's definitely him.

Funny how I saw this argument on the RBots froum once... "why are you making a bot system for an old game?" "who the hell lives in the dark ages and still plays JK anyway?"

Oh and btw, JO and JA would NEVER have been without JK and especially DF. And neither would Massassi for that matter.

Zell, it's harder to tell that the blood is all cubes when it's moving fast and only on the screen for a ~ 0.3 second time. It might still look better with slightly smaller particles though. If you were referring to the 3dos on the ground for the leftover drips, that can probably be improved. That's one reason why we showcase stuff [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

The HUD looks MSPainty because... it kinda is. Like I said, we're still working on it. It'll get better, I promise. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Because it's damn impressive to see what a nearly 10 year old, inflexible game can be forced to pump out given enough coaxing.

Anyway, looks pretty good the health hud could use a little more, like a border above the black like the ammo one. Other than that, nice.

Beautiful. There's something so poetic about blood splattering gran guts...

I too have beef with the HUD.

-The Health/Armor HUD should ressemble the Ammo HUD, or at least not clash with it.

-I don't think the labels are needed at all. Most of us old schoolers know that RED means Health and GREEN means Armor (Sheilds, same thing) The HUD would look so much cleaner w/o labels.

I think the right HUD is cool, but the left needs a bit of work. Great P99 model and bullet hits. Now, my only gripe is that it looks WAY too bloody to be 007 style. But I will say that you made nice use of this new decal system to have blood splats on the ground. Also, can we actually see the M4A1? All you showed was a scoped view.
