I like all of them except three:

The first one: It's a good drawing but it looks like a dude with **** ... :S...

The wolf picture: It just looks.. weird.. I can't explain it it doesn't really look right, it's eyes look funny and stuff I don't know..

Actually I meant the skewed face heh. I noticed you have that on some of the others. I'm not sure if it's there on purpose, but it might make an interesting style if you developed it more.

Hey, sorry for the late reply ruthy, just got back from the UK, sorry I was unable to contact you while I was there, but time and a place wouldn't permit.

As for the artwrok, spiffing! Or, for a stronger and more sensible adjective, they are truly inspiring. I wish I could draw like that. I think one of your few comebacks is the symmetry in some of them, if you know what I mean. The Natalie drawing is particularly noticable, but then this is probably the key problem facing artists, so I still say, fantastic work. My favs are prob' the Aragorn and Darius pics!

And here are the two cents from the art major student:

1) Probably the best use of contrast of lights and darks you have on the entire topic.

2) Awesome use of shading.

3) Too flat. The dog doesn't pop out enough. The dog's snout looks to be on the same plane as his eyes. Using more contrast of darks and lights and manipulation of space will help give the dog more of a 3D feel.

4) Good, even though I hate Lord of the Rings.

5) The left and right sides of the face do not match proportionally. The left side has more of and angular jaw and the right has more of a curved jaw. Since she is looking straight ahead, this seems unnatural and destroys the balance of the composition. Good otherwise.

6) Nice job on clothing and hair...face is well drawn too. My only complaint is the flatness of her breasts, which looks unnatural.

7) Depends. If you're trying to achieve a cartoonish feel, then it's good. If you're trying to achieve a realistic feel, then you defenitley need to go back and get rid of some of the lines. Remember things do not have lines around them in real life, so it's best to show that as much as possible when drawing representationally. Her body also seems very flat. Add darker tones on both sides to recede the body back into space.

8) More contrast needed to harmonize the darks near the eyes and nose.

9) Excellent use of shading.

Overall, you do have excellent drawing ability. I'd like to see more done in the negative space of these drawings as well. Having nothing in the negative space destroys a composition. And be more expressive than representational.
