A desktop I made 90% in MSPain, just touch ups in PSP. It's for the band Tourniquet, for their newest CD When Moth and Rust Destroy. (It isn't FOR them, it's just fan art desktop thingy)

It doesn't look that good, can't put my finger on it as to why it doesn't though.

Awsome idea. But it looks like the style of the image of your arms and the background dont mix...and the logo of the band doesnt quit fit in with the rest of it.

on the other hand its very well built and very artistic. i like it alot.. if i knew what band that was i'd listen to them :-P

I think its too bright. the only thing in there that should have bright colors is the butterfly.

Change out one of the arms. It doesn't look right if one is a mirror image of the other.

#1 is better, but still not quite what I had in mind. instead of making it grey, I was thinking brown.

Take arms #1, and put it on background 2. That should be a step in the right direction. With the right colors and hues, that would look really good.

I really think the arms need to be reshot. The bandages look way too... clean. I'd just imagine them to be darker, and more dirty, evil looking. Right now, it looks like someone accidentelly cut themselves and they tied it off until they could get to the hospital. I'd assume you're going for more of a tortured feeling.

As well, I think the hands should be given some slight cartooning filters, as well as, instead of a black and white tint, just a watered down orangish tint, or a complimentary color of orange.

Otherwise, I love the general layout, and feel to the piece. The hands could be slightly apart more, and I'm not feeling the current butterfly, but that's just preference. Very artistic.

[also, just to add, I like the first background, without being so dark, 10x better. I just think it was the arms that looked too white-lit. Instead of having white glare, they should have more of an industrial orange, or whatnot to them. The faded gray just doesn't look very eye-catching to me, it looks board. You could make the butterfly stand out similarly if you used uncomplimentary colors on it.]

Answers to questions and such.

1.) Yes, the person got wounded, his wrists are bleeding, so he made a TOURNIQUET to stop the bleeding. Hence the name of the band.
2.)The CD is called "When Moth and Rust Destroy" hence the rust and the MOTH not butterfly. And yes, that is a moth.
3.) The top bandage is supposed to be clean, it's the point at where I am trying to stop the bleeding. The bottom bandage is covering the wound.
4.) Reshooting isn't really an option. I took these pictures ages ago and I really like them the way they are.
5.) I just wanted the #5, because it makes me look important
