I know about the helmet's texture incongruities--They're being taken care of :-P

And now the nitpicker will come along. Take it for what you will.

First off, I will say it's damned good, but I think it can be better. Here are my suggestions.

Can the visor be a bit darker? If memory serves (It's been awhile since I touched the XBox version, on my PC the visors don't disply right) it was more of a copper color, yours is a bit too orangey.

The green of the armor was most DEFINATELY darker than that. What you have now is like dayglo or lime green. The Chief's armor was more of a grass green.

Is it just the angle of the first picture, or is it relaly that distorted? To me, it looks like his head got flattened. Try bringing it up a bit vertically.

On your smooth shaded model down at the bottom, his visor appears to be pushed out quite a bit. I think in Halo it was more recessed that pushed out.

Right now that's all I can think of. Don't take any of it the wrong way, it's far better than I could ever hope to do and is already a damned good model. But since you said it was a WIP, I figured I'd throw some suggestions your way.

Basically, darken all the textures, and try to give the visor more of an olive color.

Also, depending on what program you're making the textures in, you could easily make a red one, too. If that's something you'll do, you could just make 4 colors for team-play. Red, Blue, Green, and White.

And to add to phoenix's post (Which holds all of my major gripes) you should probably make the little things above the visor come out just a little less. As well, the head looks a bit too wide, and not tall enough. But that might be more of my preference, than true to the actual game...
