The Shadow Knows...

5 minutes in Photoshop, all for a quick peek at a forthcoming manga character in a forthcoming fan-manga based on the comic book "Leage uf Extraordinary Gentlemen".
Put the film version of LXG out of your mind, this is a return to the comic book roots. Taking the basic premise and twisting it mercilessly into an early-fifties affair was easy, once I got the hang of it. So... yeah. Lamont "The Shadow" Cranston. Not remotely final-ish at all. Just a basic peek.

It's our All-American product. We got the idea from the Germans. The French hate it. It goes for half in Canada. The English have a version, but it's not so hot. There's cheap knockoffs in India. The Japanese are devolping a sleeker, sexier model. Made in China.

Very nice, looks promising. Is that red thing a whip of some sort or is he sticking his tongue out? :p

Myabe he's been stabbed and that's a fountain of blood.

Looks good, if a little plain.

nice. A radio station near me used to air all the old radio dramas from the 1950's, so I grew up listening to the Shadow, among others. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/cool.gif]

The radio eps were cheesy, but still fun.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.

It's a scarf.
If I were Jewish, I'd be a shmuck. But I'm some sort of agnostic Christian, so instead I guess I'm just a... what, goyem?
Stylistic elements: All characters in the story will, for the most part, retain their distinct senses of style: Long black cloak and slump hat (and crimson scarf) for the shadow, greasy hair and slick black tuxedo for James Bond (complete with a wristwatch with a hand-welded microphone attached because 1st Seargent Bond of MI-4 just got the job and hasn't made friends yet), etc. However, certain characters, like Jack Meridrew (of Lord of the Flies fame) and His Grace the Earl Jonathan Greystoke (if you don't know who he is, go away) will need slight makeovers... the same one for each, as a matter of fact, since both are wild and crazy jungle boys who kill people for fun (Greystoke just happens to be a good guy).

-It'll be in standard Manga-style because I suck and hate my readers.
