Once the you make a map of the Rift, it just keeps calling you back!

For those of you who are vaguely interested in what i've been doing lately (come on. there has to be someone....), I got the *BRILLIANT* (yes, that's the word...) idea to remake my Levelsource 2 entry: Rift of Ancients. This has been entirely remade from scratch (lots of my old concepts, but none of the original geometry).

For the remake, i'm contemplating making it an SP, but i am deffinately planning on having this as a open beta (if somebody is willing to host). In the mean time, You'll have to settle for these Alpha release screenshots:

I didn't use patch-shadows, so the lighting's a little screwed up (i would have used them, but this simple compile took almost 3 hours, and time isn't a luxury i always have).

Re-designed chandalier, and YES. those chains are geometry.

And just for moxy, I AM INSIDE TEH PORTALSKY! WRAAAAA!!!!!! {sorry about even more caps [*slaps self again]).

Hmm, like the look of this new level, could look very very good when it's done. I like the new design as appose to the old one (though the old one was an awesome start...) One thing I did like in the old one was the chandelier thingie you had in it.. I remember it being a little more complex than this one, and it looks more... I dunno, real. But yes, all in all I think it's looking good, and in the first pic, you'll have to blend the mountain side thingie with the portal sky.. i guess... even though... i have no clue, what i'm talking about... (over punctuation = god.)


Like it, keep goin, and I WANT A BETA! O_O

Thanx for the comments everybody. I've decided to release the map with each version (including this one). I'll be setting it up once i get the botrouts added (i've outsourced to Captain America for that, so i might be a day or so), then i'll post a link.

The map's far from complete however, so any comments would be helpful.

ok. I've finally got the public beta up and running. It can be downloaded here. The map has been made public due to bandwith issues with Hotmail, and the fact that this way, anybody can play and i don't have to wait for one of my testers to reformat their computer.
