Ok. Before I give info about the ugly texturing and the project, let's play a guessing game.

What artist and which one of his work is "seen" in this level so far?

Anyway; it's been done before, and it didn't work very well.

Looks well done, to me. Just do a smash-up texture job, and you'll be fine.

For the textures, I might go for a black and white bricks (or maybe a light yellow/brown [because the original print was sorta yellowish.]) At first, I wanted to simulate "drawn-on" criss-crosses (like in the real pic [check Emon's post]. Maybe some B&W tiles for floors.

Maybe textures that look like they are "drawn on" and aren't totally realistic. But I am open for ideas.

Serious Sam has variable direction gravity. Q3 does not.

Everyone who didn't immediately think Escher, when they saw this shoot be shot on sight.

Cool idea, but yes, I'm affraid it wouldn't work very well for a lvl. Though we have force jump as an advantage in JA.

This just came to me:

Couldn't you make the whole thing a model, and then let it rotate the entire time with its geometrical centre as an axis. This way the whole up/down/left/right thing will be even more emphasised.

Wouldn't work for MP, because you can't rotate the model for everyone if they are in different places.

I wish I could rotate it like that. But most likely the map, and the server, would kill itself.

Maybe some coder might come along and add gravity properties like in Serious Sam.

It could slowly rotate the same way for all of them, so that 'down' keeps changing.
