Thats quite the barrel there. What kind of gun is that supposed to be? Because the barrel seems disproportinately large.

It's the gun from an anime called TRIGUN, and I used picture references like crazy. So i know it's big but thats how it really looks.

Reference is teh wrong. The gun isn't that long at all. The handle is different, the trigger is thinner and the barrel is wider. The bullet holder-thingy is to long and not thick enough, and the thing that you use to cock it or whatever is facing the wrong direction...but nice start. :/

SAJN, I think that is the reduced version. I think his refrences were from the series itself.
http://www.animeaddiction.net/anime/trigun/images/trigun_001.jpg
OK, maybe the barrel was a bit big...
http://www.thespectrum.net/files/trigun/trigun_1.jpg
It could be the angles of the gun that make it seem longer.
http://www.animecentral.net/pics/trigun/triguno/trigunocap7.jpg
OK, now that's long.
http://www.animecentral.net/pics/trigun/triguno/trigunocap18.jpg
Again, with the angle. But you can see it's long.

I'd say you've done a good job, vegie.

Let me guess you're next project... The man that goes with the gun, and the minister in black... http://www.manga.cz/img_clanky/trigun/trigun5.jpg and his gun.

Wow, I guess i was off just a bit; however, for my second showcased model I think it's not that bad. I will tweak it a bit and texturing shouldn't be all that hard. BTW I looked at the videos themselves for reference, but a lot of the pics were at funky angles. Thanks for these new shots to compare with!

I think I fixed everything you guys mentioned, but still tell me anything that is still off.

Trigun is my favorite anime... I'm so glad you're modelling this. Are you thinking about making a whole Trigun MP mod? If so, you'll need to make Wolfwood and his cross, Legato, Knives, the Puppetmaster, a few of the Gung-Ho Guns, and of course Vash. Good levels to start off on would be the Ship in "Flying Ship"...or Augusta City after it was destroyed... or maybe the small area where Vash and Knives have their final battle. If you're interested in this as a project, I'd love to map/model for it... after I finish my current map that is... and I'm sure there are more closet Trigun fans lurking around here...

I can map and model a bit, if it comes to that.

The hammer doesn't line up with the right bullet. The firing pin hits the wrong bullet, the bullet doesn't have a barrel to go through, bad things happen.

You know, looking at it I guess you could have like a long pin or something slanting down to that bottom bullet, but it just seems insanely impractical.

I suppose you've never seen Trigun, Correction... if you did, that gun would really drive you mad. You see that gun later mutates with Vash's right arm and becomes his third and most powerful gun... a WMD capable of leveling entire cities, but it's composed of 100% plant cells. Figure that one out. Oh I do love the taste of sci-fi western anime cheese.

Well I wasn't realy planning on it, but if enough people are serious it could happen. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] I realy have just been watching a bunch of Trigun reacently and was very inspired to do something (episode 12 "Diablo" REALY did it) and wanted to practice my JED skills. I just started texturing it yesterday and it's begining to look realy cool, so, after I have it textured a little bit more, I'll post some more screenies.

Your proportions aren't right, think about holding and using that. If you enlarge your grip, it will be great.

It does look nice and you're off to a very good start, but it really doesn't look like Vash's gun. You should really use those references posted on here.

Ok I worked on the proportions a little and spent most of the time on the handle. So i hope you like it now.

Hopefully I'll get some textures made within a few days.

(edit) I just added the safety switch.
