Hi!
I know I'm late for the contest, but anyway...
Held by 2 ships, speeding down the canyon.
The arena, quite empty... Was thinking of adding Jump Pads, but I'm not sure how to implement them.
And even if I did, it would still look empty...

PS.
I now know what WIP stands for. Work in Progress. But, what is this (sp?) thingy?

Jump pads simply involve getting a touched message from a surface (the jump pad) or a 3do. Then, the cog would add a vector to the player's momentum (up).

Just get dynamic lighting in, and it'll look a whole lot better.

Yes, what it needs is some good lighting.

Something other than a square canyon would be nice, too.

Well, then I'd need some help to generate a terrain, and have it speed by you? And never ends!
*sigh* If only there was some MULTI MEGA Great game out there where you could make a level, and then code in a visual to give you a random terrain! Better yet, put an arena on rails and have those rails toss and turn randomly! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] *sigh* One can only dream.

And I've added some lighting.

That lighting is yucky. But I assume you already knew.

I like the look of the arena itself, but the canyon isn't looking too hot. Here are some suggestions:
  • Instead of the overused canyon textures, do something different. I think it would be cool to be speeding through a river canyon on some jungle planet.
  • How about adding lightning and thunder? Make it pitch black in the canyon and add lightning that lights up the entire level.
  • Maybe put in rain that speeds by. You could do that with an adjoin and a conveyor cog.
  • Make the ship a little more detailed. The particles coming out of the thrusters is cool, though.
  • Don't use LEC textures.

It's a cool idea, and I want to play it... just polish it up.

River canyon on jungle planet... Hm... You mean like, a nice river right under and random trees appearing randomly? Might end up hitting thing limit and projectiles won't happen...

Hm... Pitch black? Hm... Sort of like it, only... I'll have to add some lights around the arena so people can see something.

Yeah, problem would be, if I wish to add something to the spectators place, things can get complicated... Any chance I could possibly make like a whole particle system without running into limits?

Detail... Hm... I'm afraid not... The ship is my design, and I designed smoothness. The only small detail I took notice of is, the top door. Can you spot it? By the way, if you want detail of the ship, I guess I could add the interiour...

Why not? Have they outdone their use? In which case, what would you prefer?

Will do!

Hm... All those ideas are good... And this gives me an idea... Of course, this idea wouldn't have come, without me having played URU - Path of the Shell... If anyone can guess my idea, then shush!

Anyway, back to wor *looks at time* bed... Good night!
