Banks and banks of humming machinery! I've never seen so many knobs. We're going to have to do something, Charlie! Try pushing that button there. No? How about that one? No, not that one either. I know! I'll try pushing this one. Hold my hat will you? Good fellow.

It's cool because those don't look anything like what they are up so close.

How much do Macro lenses run? Last I checked, I couldn't even conceive the number.

For those of you wondering, I actually made a homemade macro, it's actually pretty easy to do. All you need is 2 lenses. One lens is on your camera, and the other one is turned around on the end of it. This inverted lens should have the aperture fully open. So this was just done with my 28-80 lens with a wide-angle lens taped on backwards. It's really easy to do and you can get some really cool stuff. I highly recommend a tripod though, because to focus you have to physically move the camera closer or further from your subject.

Ford - It was shot on my Canon Rebel 2000 with 800 speed film.

NICE. So, in essance, I could just flip my lense around, and this would work perfectly? Brilliant. I'm going to go test it out right now. (By right now, I mean when I have to get up and do something else; hence the next time I wizz)

murc: thats an interesting idea you had. by how fast i meant the lens aperture. 2.8 1.8 something in between? higher lower?

Ford - I don't remember what I had the aperture set at. I was able to close it a lot and have longer exposures for a bit more DOF because the subjects were stationary. Looking at my camera now, it looks like the last one I took (dryer vent) was at 11. Hope that helps a bit...I'm not very good when it comes to camera terms...
