...Which is why I need your help. I didn't labor over this for very long, but I was just using MSpaint to make a basic picture of what I'd like someone to make. I apologize if this is the wrong forum, I know not of where else to put this.

Anyway, if someone would be so kind as to make a [EDIT: MAKE THAT 150x150] icon with those EXACT same colors, I would appreciate it very much. It's for a website I'm working on. You WILL be credited.

Right, perhaps you could smooth out the curves, and make the black lines bolder and thicker. I know it's limited space, but it shouldn't be too hard. Make sure you have a convex arch for the top of the bottom segment of fire and a concave arch for the bottom of the top piece of the fire. If that doesn't make sense, make it so that if the two pieces combined they would be like corresponding jigsaws. Thanks, maybe you could post your creation here and I can ask you to tweak it some more if necessary.

I'm very grateful to anyone who'd take a sec to do this. THanks! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Yes, thankyou, only make the lines even thicker and distribute the flame so that it occupies most of the square (my drawing was a bad example). Also, smooth out the curves more and make the curves more radical (wavy).

But you're onto the right idea. Feel free to add a bit of artistic license if you feel so inspired. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Ahh, Zy, that second pic really appeals to me. I could think of maybe a few things that might look good changed, but overall, looks more or less spot on. And vegie, I really appreciate your design as well, thanks for the time. But it's still not finalized. Let me go test it out, I'll post a screenie. You two can also perhaps offer some opinions on my site layout, although it's still in the beta stages.

Btw guys, just curious, what programs are you using to make these?

Here we go...

The picture's a bit small, and the website isn't finalized yet, but maybe you could give me some comments/suggestions. I've already got a set layout in mind, but I'm open to input.

[EDIT: Ignore the text, it's just there for the purpose of testing the tables. Also, the website is something I'm doing for one of my friends who wants to start up a prayer group and course at my school on the Holy Spirit.]

either center it, or make it fill up the whole screen.

I'm going for osme variation in webs design. My last sight was centered. I've also considered making it stretch across the screen, but I like seeing some background color plus compatibility across browsers and resolutions is usually hindered.

Besides, this method of laying out a site seems to be the standard these days. here are just a couple of examples:

I've never understood how ANYONE can browse with the window Maximized.

I always do. But I can't do it with IE. Firefox, no problem.

Me too... But I hate sites which only cater for one resolution (And it's usually something stupidly low like 800x600).

How can you speak of webdesign and not have a decent browser in your quicklaunch bar?

For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone wouldn't browse in a maximized window... it's cleaner looking, you can see high-rez images and sites without side-scrolling, and it's easier to use scrollbars if they're always in one spot. I can't think of one reason you wouldn't want it maximized... especially if you use a tab browser.

The only disadvantage I see in a maximized window is if you need to get to something on the desktop -- then you have to minimize; now, if you had it windowed (even if it was in windowed mode and still "fit" the screen), all you'd have to do is drag and click on what you need, then drag back if you needed (dragging is slightly quicker, particularly on my computer).

Or you could click the "show desktop button" to instantly go to the desktop. Or you could just not put those kinds of shortcuts on your desktop, rather on your quicklaunch bar or start menu. That's how i prefer to do it anyway

Or you could just move your mouse the 3/4 of an inch it takes to hit the minimize button. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif]

Dual monitors both at 1600x1200 resolulation. My IE windows are sized to about 1024x768 and stack pretty neatly as I open new links. If I maximized a window, like 60% of the view would be wasted. I typically do nothing "full screen" if at all possible. It drives me nuts that I have to dedicate a monitor to JK while playing; luckily most my other stuff (EverQuest window, PlanetSide window, Counter-Strike window, webpages, windows explorer, etc.) all sit quietly and happily behind JK while it does it's thing, waiting patiently for me to hit escape to jam JK back into it's more proper windowed state.

PS: I agree with Chewie [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]. If you've got a window open, it's there for a purpose, with your train of thought on that process. Not taking anything away from multi-tasking, but I really don't flick that much between my text-editor, compilers, WinAmp and FireFox [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]. Maybe the only time I don't want my main program occupying the whole screen is when I write debug messages in my code so I can see what output my compilers are spewing at me [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
