You're definitely right! As Jar-Jar would say, Icky poo! (but some Massassian shot Jar-Jar a long time ago, didn't they?)
As for the level, it's good to see that you've learned to use 3DOs for arcitecture very well; it's a skill you shouldn't forget. However, you should try to learn to use sector-based arcitecure primarily. Although I can't blame you for using the default textures (it's hard to make surfaces look good without inserting a lot of custom .MATs). However, just as great textures can make mediocre acitecure look good, great arcitecture, with strategic use and selection of mediocre textures (such as the defaul LEC provided ones), can still look great. Try using a LOT of sectors to add details one normalyl wouldn't think of: perhaps the dome should have supporting steel girders, or collumns or pipes running down a hallway (these are just ideas for general level building). Also, try to avoid prism-shaped (read: squarish) rooms and areas whenever possible, by adding extra things. With a good makeover, that could just turn out into another nice addition to Massassi's JK MP maps.
And long after your first level is released (6-10 months), I gauruntee that it will seem very newb-ish to you. Don't worry; it happens to all of us.
Wake up, George Lucas... The Matrix has you...
