If I had a nickel for everytime I started a new level but never finished it, I would be rich. I figured it was about time to post all of my unfinished levels... and they're most probably going to stay unfinished. Sorry to tease all of you with these levels, but I think that the least I can do is show them to you guys instead of never being seen.

Temple
This was going to be a puzzle-oriented SP level, but never got around to finishing it.

Subway
Another SP level that dealed with terrorists invading a subway station. Would've like to finish this one...

Infiltration On Alzoc III
This SP level was going well, but mission objective problems messed it up and I wasn't happy with some parts of it.

The JK House
An MP level that was modeled after a real house.

Phoenix Suburban City SE
This is the only thing I regret not finishing... the improvements include and way-better weather system, everything in 16-bit, and new buildings. There is still a possibility I'll finish this... we'll see.

DM Level
A really detailed MP level that I simply didn't want to finish. And yes, I know the textures suck.

Jedi Knight Editing: A Tribute
This was one of my cooler ideas methinks. This SP level was essentially a museum you walked around and read about some of the most influential JK editors.

Heh... some of these look like they could make it... with alittle more time spent on them. You should pass them over to other editors that have a bit more time on their hands.
2004-09-17, 2:14 PM #4
I say post them here and now and see what others do with them. See how they can improve them. I might have an idea or 2.

Then again, they might just be perfect the way they are.

Whelly, some of those levels look great!

If you wouldn't mind a shameless plug (since you're not going to finish it anyway) would you mind if I perhaps made a level based on that last idea? I'd like to make an editing tribute/mada memorial. In fact I already have a level I've started which could be altered slightly to suit these purposes.

I just don't want to steal your idea without permission. :)

Sure, Daft_Vader. If you want, I could give you the resources I had for that level.

The Tribute level was going to be a museum that paid tribute to many of JK's great editors, and was fairly big and detailed. I actually made the MaDaVentor section a long time ago, before he passed away...

I personally think you should release them all just for concept sake.

Hehe... Make each section for each author kinda 'themed' like their best work. Spiral's would have things jumping at you, and Jeff's would be a portion of Drazen isle etc.

Just FYI, if you get some random crazy retarded idea to put a newbie like me in it, make it all dflt.mat except for the description and such.

Here's the list of people whose sections of the museum I had finished:

Gunboy
ID_Junkguy
Speak
SavageX
Jeff W.
NorthChaos
MadaVentor
Slug
Spiral
Flexor
HothRebel
Takimoto
BeefCaike
Tee

These guys influenced and inspired me, and I think also the entire Massassi community. I was also planning on dedicated the east wing of the museum to Massassi and talk about it's history.

At the very least release that city one with the night effects. I'd like to see how that well that works, regardless of whether its finished or not.

El Scorcho, it's already been released with those effects. It's called "Phoenix Suburban City" the above is the special edition of the map.

I think you should add modelers like Hellcat, Jenny, and S51 to that shrine level.

Also, would you be interested in building a madamemorial level?

I'm all for that theme idea. Jumping platform to platform in a Dark Tempest room, to suddenly Drazen Isle and hearing ambient waves crash on the shore. Good times. Although I don't have JK level-making experience, I have a few ideas. It all depends on whether or not JK could make it possible.

Without a doubt, it's a terrible shame to hear that these levels will be forever cast into the void of "unfinished-ness" :( - what is great to see though is some fantastic looking levels - finished or not :D

As a side-note, more to Whelly than anyone else - if you're still editing/playing JK by the time I release that DM level I mentioned (and what must be many moons ago now ;)), you're still on my list for beta testers - if you're still up for it ;). That's another thing actually - some people seem to be able to churn out high-quality levels over an astonishingly short length of time, whereas mine seem to take forever :o.... have you got any tips, Whelly? :o :D

Personally I would love to play the Massassi Editor's museum. Would be nice to recall those good ol days back in the highlight of editing JK.

JediKirby: It would be fun to make a Mada memorial level, but I really have no time. I've retired from editing.

lucky_jackpot: I'm still waiting for that level! I will gladly help beta test it. About making levels faster... I dunno. A day wouldn't go by when I didn't work on my levels... just try to commit at least 30 minutes a day on it! :)

Really, if you guys like this memorial idea and someone wants to finish it, I'll happily hand over the original level. Just send an e-mail.

I REALLY like the editor's museum thing... probably cause I am in there... ;) But seriously.. u should finish it, or have someone else finish it... just to stand as a memorial.. not just for MaDa, but for others who might be leaving (like Tee did)

You are too amazing to stop editing. Seriously. You've done a great thing for a few of us role players out there with SC inc. remake that or something. *sleep*
