Everything is either digital or oil on canvas - should be fairly obvious which are which. Thanks to herb for the script.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

Why on earth has no one commented on this?

It may not be much of a website [yet] but that artwork is incredible! Could perhaps do with a bit more variation in themes (ie. more pictures other than guns/soldiers) but the standard of the art is very high, and the quality and personal style are very satisfying.

For a man with without a name, these are some exceptional pieces! ;)

Sine you deserve a better site than that to display your work. I mean sure it does the job, but come on. It's like parking a ferarri in a ghetto shed man :(
And that makes baby jesus cry

Dude, the script kicks ***. It's simple, and clean.

Herb, I want one!
I think I wrote one for myself a while back (or maybe it was for Zully), but I can't find it. Bah-humbug.

Here's another example of it:

http://heeb.geekvision.net/sine

and the source is:

http://heeb.geekvision.net/sine/index.phps

and the styles are:

http://heeb.geekvision.net/sine/photos.css

Anyone, please feel free to clean this code up. If you do, give it to me. I'd like to take some hints.

Awsome pictures, but you need a better way of displaying them.

at least im not the only one...

"kick ***" script or not, it's far from as aesthetically appealing as your artwork. Do you think any potential employer will understand the complexity of the php coding? Think as superficially as possible when it comes to displaying something to a wider audience than the local massassian geek.
(come on people, Im a graphic design major, and do know what I'm talking about...most of the time)

Now im not talking about some glorified flash mess, similar to my site for those that remember it, simplicity can be just as effective, if not more. For those who may be saying im contradicting myself in saying that because this site is rather simple, I assure you I'm not. There is creative simplicity and technical simplicity. This falling more on the technical side. Linear grey header/footer boxes and black underline link text kinda lack an artistic appeal, especially for a digital art gallery.

So, trying to not be ignorant, I guess it depends on who your target is with this. If its for friends and whatever just as a way to say hey some of my stuff is on a site for you to see so you can stop bugging me about it, then sure this is perfect. But if you plan on using it for any kind of professional reference, I do recommend remodeling a bit. Either way, its your site and your work. I'm just giving my opinion.

Some constructive tips that may be useful now or later:

- Keep your thumbnails uniform if possible (the script looks like its just cutting the original size in half)

- Crop out sections of the full image to be used strictly for thumbnails (again, if its possible. This obviously complicates the functions of this script but its a very simple and pleasing effect)

- Unless you use the slideshow, you're clicking thumbnails twice before you get to the full sized image. Kind of monotonous

- Think about maybe adding personal thoughts, inspirations, or even anecdotes for each piece and somehow incorporating it

- Slideshow might work better if the full images were displayed. Also an automatic advance would make it more slideshow like.

Thats all I got I guess. Like I said I dont really know where you plan to go with this so I just put in my thoughts as neutrally as I could.

Good Luck

I agree with you JS. I just wrote that for a quick and dirty way to display a lot of pictures without practically any effort at all. There are photo albums all over that do just that and are also free. It just so happens that all Sine had to do was copy and paste a single file and put it in a directory (that is, without styles) and it worked.

That's a very popular and very customizable one.
