I've been working on this for a while now. I need some advice on what to fill the empty space. This isn't the full size and I cropped it abit. However, I have alot of open space, and I need some idea's.

It's just a space thing. I guess it looks ok, but it's yet another random space-thing. Not really 'Right Click>set as bg' material.

The monitor I'm on at school = teh sux bad, so I can't see all of your detail.

Reguardless, I have a few suggestions.
  • I'd randomize the nebula a bit more. It looks too uniform to me. The shape is pretty standard, and you have the pretty standard bright glow on the inside. Change that up a bit.
  • Add a few bright stars somewhere. The largest concentration would logically be inside the nebula, but a few could be outisde.
  • Add a smaller nebula. Hell, maybe not even a full blown nebula. Maybe just some whisps of stellar dust that kinda attach to the main nebula. Not directly, but they have the appearance of being ejected from there.

Those would be my initial suggestions. It'd have to see it after you make some more changes to really give any more.

It looks like a bunch of vertical columns that are very repetitive.

I would increase the visibility of the star field, reducing contrast between the nebula and stars. Also randomize the nebula shape and pattern, it looks too concentrated.

That looks awesome Thrawn. Anyone else want to add anything? Now I kinda want to see where this can go, but hopefully not in the direction of that old thread where people just inserted random images to the previous post.

In my opinion, the edge of the nebula looks a bit too well-defined. You should add some more semi-transparent stuff, gas streams, whatever, coming off the sides. Also, the background looks kind of bland. Maybe add some brighter stars?

As for the spaceship, it's cool but it looks a bit too CG.

How about some green laser blasts just barely missing the ship? It would give it a story, some action. Maybe a little damage on the ship too.

Hm. Well, I was thinking that they'd be coming from behind, as if it was being chased by a TIE, and it was running for the nebula. But that works too. :)
