Myeah I couldn't really get it 100% right. I was in a desperate need for a real living model :)

Bloody parents took all our mirrors with them to the US so I couldn't even model myself.

The ring should have been more straight or curving down. It messess up the perspective as is.

What really separates us is your hairdo, lady.

It looks like her skull is 3 feet long, and her pinky looks broken...other then that nice.

Interesting and certainly skillful. But there have been some valid points in the posts above.

Look up the music video - Stabbing Westward : So Far Away

Thats all i see when I look at this drawing (good thing) Shame its too late to fix the hand issue, but the head looks fine (she is looking downward and has a bun type female gender thing)

Nice job :)

Instead of desperately trying to explain what proportions and positioning needs to be adjusted, I spent 3 mins with poser (my private life model helper drawing tool thingy) and came up with this. Hope it helps, if youre offended by me posting it I will remove it at your request of course. (and anybody whos played with poser knows this really required no talent to make so im not showing it off or anything...)

And yes, shes very ugly...Judy needs to get more exercise too...

Forearm and hand are to large for a woman. Head looks a little to long/tall. Good shading though. Its always the sizing of things thats the hard part...especially when you don't have a live model.

Sajn & schorcho: I don't really see what's wrong with the head :S It's tilted down a little bit (see how she has to look up a little bit to watch the viewer in the eye?). And I actually used an image refrence I found with google to get the general shape of the head right. So if this is not right, I managed to find a refrence with an inhuman head o_O

Salvy: Where could I download/buy/get more info, on that program? I've been looking for a program that allows me to put a human being in every pose possible for drawing refrence, but I couldn't find any before.

$200

Of course for the type of use we use it for there are less reputable ways of getting it...which bring about many moral issues I'd rather not discuss.

Theres also a abridged demo download on the site but im not sure how long it lasts.

The drawing made me think she was darker skinned, but not quite black... I think she'd be hotter that way, anyways. :D

I might try out that demo version, see what its all about.

For now I was thinking of buying such a wooden manequin doll. If they are not too expensive, that is...

Once you do enough life drawing it becomes second nature to you. The only time I use poser really is if its a really tough position or if I'm really lazy. Do you start out with any kind of frame work or stick figure before you start contouring?

I usually start with a stick figure, then replace the sticks with some basic shapes (trapezium for a body, oval for the head, rectangles for parts of the arms etc) to get more dimension in the drawing. Then I start with a general contour. But I often change things like the stance of the character middrawing. (which is possible since I usually draw top to bottom anyway)

In other news I bought a wooden mannequin today. It actually wasn't by far as expensive as I thought it would be. And I got a nice 20% discount because I'm a student 8) . Don't know who mad up that rule, but it rules :)
