LoG 03 is still alive, just going rather slowly due to real life commitments. I could use some constructive criticism and feedback to get me motivated again.

Here it is, teh suck WIP shot:

I know I could use some colored lighting on the left a little, to shot the detail there, and curve out the central passage a little. I'm also getting some weird cog issues here, but I'll work those out later on my own.

It starts to rain later on, and I've used the adjoin method, but it's annoying figuring out when a certain amount of rain is too much (with too many layers visible). I think I have some ideas for this.

I'd appreciate any comments on this, and a few wise words of encouragement to keep me going. In advance thanks, I'll post a completely random shot... :\

o.O I cut this part out because it makes the least sense of the rest of the level, which has no sense to begin with, so this part actually made negative sense.

That's the thickest rain I've ever seen! Keep up the good work, looks nice.

Looks nice!

But could you do some form of lightning with the castle? So one moment the building is seen and moments where it is covered in shadow? Just a thought.

Swank.

The rain should:
• Be a light shade of blue
• Be translucent

And when I say should, I mean must.

Unfortunately, Acharjay, translucent rain with that many layers would make multi-layer translucency clipping.

Also, yes, lightning is in the works. When it begins to rain, the sky will also be darker.

So make one scrolling texture with many layers of rain, moving at different speeds according to distance, that are slightly blue and translucent! :)
DO NOT WANT.

Wouldn't particle rain be better? Or is it too much of a bother? .'/

Particle rain looks like the sky is showering big blue boxes.

Pepper the raindrop textures with black pixels to give it a translucent appearance.

it worked for the translucent HUDs in Laboratory... I never thought to use it on rain though.. I bet it'd look sweet

HRJ: I've never seen blue rain here in Florida, and trust me, it's been raining a lot lately! :p

That last screen looks too funny. You should include that cutscene as a little freebie, at least. Nice texturing, architecture, and use of a skybox to give the level a moody atmosphere.

I'm still looking forward to getting MotS, so I can enjoy the first two LoG levels... And now I'm wanting to get it even more.
