Argh! Those were the very same words I thought of when I read the first post! Curse you for stealin' my words! Curse you I say!

...Also, adding anisotropic filtering would be a good idea as well. The sides of those distant buildings... One word describes them: ugh.

I concur.

Anyway, the shot looks a lot better, though it seems that AF hasn't been applied to the full x16 level, and might be only x4, but that's better than nothing... Is that a red planet on the horrizon?

That's because he's using the Yavin skybox.
I bet you think that's funny, don't you.

Yea, Yavin sky for right now. How did you know exactly what level AF I had on? That's pretty scary.

Simple; My rusty Radeon 7000 won't go beyond x4, so that's what I use. My brother's nice 9600XT goes all the way to x16, so he keeps it there. We look a lot at each other's computers, so I know the difference between those two settings. However, I like that line, and think I'll use it for my sig.

It's a product of many dreams and my imagination therefore taking place no where, and it's one of the many maps I made for me and my friends to play on LAN at my house. There are several floors you can go inside of in one of the skyscrapers.

Might have you shots of the inside of that skyscraper? I'm always curious to see what art an author has done with the lobby/mezzaine of a giant building... Which reminds me, I should post the shots of the bottom of the tower in My project...

Are you using entity suns?
2004-10-11, 3:31 PM #18
thats almost as good as humping... almost
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}
2004-10-11, 3:57 PM #19
Yes, there are about 6 entity suns. (Right now, because I wanted everything to be really bright) More shots later tonight or tommorow of the interior of the skyscraper and some minor street changes and some little things that make it look a little more realistic.

:)

Tell me if this looks okay for an entrance. I thought about making them just normal pull doors but this sounded cooler.

Doesn't matter, I can't play in MP anyways. :P

I might actually take mine and convert it into SP after I make it for MP.

Rotating doors have five sections, else the air would slid in and out.

And I'm really not at all impressed yet. Needs a lot of work on detail, and just overall feel.

That explains why the shadows look so incredibly bad. Use q3map_sunExt in the skyshader, and even q3map_skyLight if needed. remember, you can use multiple shader suns within one skyshader as well, although with skyLight, you won't need much of those.
