Literally. I'm mainly posting to prove that this project is still well alive, and will be on an epic scale to put 02 to shame.

The big garagedoor will soon be a wall of water surging up to wash our intrepid hero away as he scrambles upward.

Here's a status shot in JED to show you how much I've completed thus far. Unfortunately, I'm having new idea-itis, and whenever I finish one area, I want to add ten more. Believe me when I say that when (if) this is completed, it will be chock full of gameplay goodness. [EDIT: Actually, this shot is worthless, as I actually have oodles more in two separate JED files that I'm going to beam into this one before I'm finished.]

I do have a question, though. Should I add separate paths to completion? Will people even play through and notice if such paths exist? For LoG 01 (which I admit sucked) there was an alternate, far cooler way to finish the level, but very, very few people figured this out, and almost everyone just took the easy and non-sensical way out. If I do add more choices, I'd rather have it be in such a manner that the player could just as easily pick one over the other and might have to reload and try a different route, even though both were viable.

Different routes would certainly enhance replay value. The player could save at a fork in the road, and then try one, and after finishing the game, come back to his saved game and try the alternate route. I think that would be most exciting.

btw, this looks awesome! You've truly improved since your first installment.

Like Me! I'm guessing you went with the Ice Climbers idea then? And, how belated of a present is this going to be?

This level should be uber cool. LoG 1 was okay, 2 was excellent, and this looks awesome!

Keep up the good work.
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

Considering the fact of how bored I am with jk/mots I don't think I would bother with an alternative route if there was one :S Though not considering that it's always a good idea to add replay value! :]

I'm with vedder. It will only add time to development that is already stretched out with a dubious yield to gameplay.

You're levels, though I've never played them, seem quite interesting, and I like the way you make adventure game type stuff. It's pretty inspiring.

If you're worried about people not noticing and finding all the alternate paths when they play the level(s), you might opt to have visible signposts at "forks in the road."

Another idea: have you thought about including different elevations? Many platformers have paths at different heights

All I'd do is give the player model a red hat and overalls, looking at that first shot.

At this point, no matter what happens, it will be good.

Hey! Why don't I have my copy of MotS yet? WHY?! I'm gonna make whoever's responsible pay! Wait a minute... The person responsible is ME! I need to go get the game so I can play LoG...

Anywa, your work looks great! I'm very much wanting to play it. As for the forked roads, I feel that they make levels better, (my first WIP has 20+ availible paths through the level, though most are simple variants) and they would make your level much more interesting, epsecially if different paths led to completely different "tasks." (mini-games, activites, whatever)
