Despite the fact that I feel the same way...

In his defense, right at everyone makes crap the first time they map. It's just that everyone usually chooses NOT to show it. He did the opposite.

You need to work on elaborate form. Try adding depth to the current textures by making detail where there's a flat part in the texture. Add a strip of cleaved out wood where there's trimming. Add supports for overhangs. Add overhangs. A lot can be done for that map, like lighting.

I'm sorry, but if Naga Sadow were here, he'd probably slap you for making that temple in his honor. A little mood lighting, some actual architecture and possibly a few good textures, and you just might have a shiner there.
