One of the main characters. (special thanks to S51 for the name of the character)

[edit: oh and for the wise***es who'd like to point out that those wings could never carry him. Indeed. He can't fly with them, the only things he could do with them is break a long fall a bit or show off in front of the ladies. (kinda like batman's cape :P)]

This community grew beyond being an editing community anyway, as I see it.

I don't want to sound mean or anything, but is that gray blur around the character result from smudging or erasing?

Echoman: From smudging, I wanted to give the character a bit of a dark aura. Maybe I went a little overboard on darkening it in post processing though. It's not quite that noticeble on paper.

It's an excellent picture. I don't quite grasp the whole symbolism, but that's ok. It's no less powerful because of that.

Good drawing.

But I thought red bull gave you wings..?

Pff who needs red bull!

Oh and what's better English: "the Gods who" or "the Gods that"?

who came more natural to me, but now someone gave me the suggestion to change it to 'that' and now I'm in doubt.

And thanks for the comments, keep them coming ;)

Do you just use one type of pencil for this? I seriously think this drawing would kick more *** if you used pencils of different weights and thicknesses.

I think this one was made with a HB mechanical pencil and a 4B graphite stick. Though it might have been just the mechanical pencil. I also use 2H occasionally.

Colouring was done, as always with Paint Shop Pro, with my wacom this time. I'm finally getting used to that thing.

The first thing I noticed was that the left leg looks a bit strange, in my opinion. Other than that, it's a pretty neat drawing.
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

I believe that either word works in this case. Only thing I'd change is "were" to "was".

Yeah, I thought that as well at a glance, but now that I think about it, "were" would make more sense since "gods" is plural. Sure it doesn't sound right, but sometimes we're so used to bad grammar that good grammar sounds peculiar! :D

Nevermind, ArcharJay is right on!

But the subject is "it" ("it were the gods...") so I believe "was" is meant to be used.

Sigh English.

Looks like the cover of some lame manga.

The drawing is okay.... the whole wings and claws and alien tail and 'hatred gave me strength', 'love gave me freedom' type thing has had the hell beat out of it through overuse. expand a bit.

(NICE DRAWING!!!)

Thanks for the comments.

I'll see if I can change were to was, your explanation seems logical and word spelling checker seems to agree with it. ;)

In Dutch the grammar rules are different with that if 'it' (or het, in dutch) refers to something that is plural (in this case 'the Gods' (de Goden)) than the verb adapts to that. So instead of "Het was de Goden" it'll be "Het waren de Goden" which was essentially what I had written there.

I'll tell you the truth, I think the coloring job is a good quality, but I prefer the first image IMESNLY(sp). The color one just doesn't excite me like the B&W one does.

Arkan11, I get that more often, it's a matter of personal taste I guess, some people just like my coloured drawings more and others the black and white versions more. Personally I like making both, so I'll always do both. And the beauty of colouring on my pc is that the origional drawing doesn't get touched.

Gnostica, thank you.

no problem. I would like to see more of your art. Its very deep and deep is something I look for because you can come up with your own meaning or you can try to find the true meaning of what the artist tried to state. Yes B & W is my fav. to it lets your imagination wander and lets you be able to visualize it in a different perspective, when color only relies a message of whats going through the artists mind. I dont know if you can understand what im saying. Sorry if you can't.
