Basicly It was a school project. "Create your own Utopia" And include picture events, culture etc. Since it's a box with crap in it I had second thoughts of showcasing it but since Im proud with it. I thought I'd let you guys see it.

Strange idea of an utiopa you have. Looks more like a mental hospital (in space) to me.

I'm curious as to how the "No idiots" rule is enforced. :)

2004-11-11, 2:41 PM #5
Haven't gotten a grade yet. Project is due Wensday. And worth 2 test grades. And the no idiots rule. Dunno how it's enforced, but I will think of one. It kind does look like a hospital Basicly it's a city in space in high orbit around the earth.

Interesting concept, particularly the "Not Idiots" rule... :D

Anyway, is part of the grade based upon artwork? If so, then a few suggestions. First, I don't think that asingle flat surface texture (which seems to be plastered right on the window) looks realistic enough as a display of Earth; try some sort of pseudo-skybox, thats is of a much higher apparent texture level. Secondly, given how bright the are appears, I'm surprised there is no glare visible on tyhat obligatory reflective floor. What program are you using for this? To me, it looks like your making it with something like JK2 Radiant.

Dam..you got a wacked idea of a Utopia...do you even know what Utopia means? Or is a cold hospital like building in space your idea of a perfect world....

You might not get a very good grade cus it's not really a Utopia at all?
2004-11-12, 1:56 PM #10
Actually, "utopia" is Greek, and means "nowhere". It's an imaginative place.

...How can that not be a utopia? A utopia doesn't mean flowers and gay dancing children. If he can explain why it's a utopia, it is.

Okay I made small and final updates. And so people don't think it's an orbital nut house I put the logo for it. This is basicly the main lobby were you check in. Space topia is aliitle like CC in space. I also made a map for it.

You might want to ammend the "high orbit around Earth" bit. From the window, yes, it's a high orbit -- beyond the moon.

Looks like the Rancor Petting Zoo won't be getting much business, at least if you are enforcing the "no idiots" rule.
2004-11-13, 11:36 AM #18
The Rancor is tamed. No worrys. And I was able to take the crew quaters that were rejected from my tantive into the space station.

I'll admit, as much as you piss me off, you have talent. I'm sure your project will shame everyone else's.

An ANTI-MICROWAVE!!!

Someone so needs to invent something like that. Put in some water, run it for 30 seconds, and *ding!* you have ice!

wow, a freezer  jk

I suggest making the earth a LOT closer to the station. It would look a lot cooler (expecially if you use a portal-thingie and have earth spin.)
