the pebbling of the skin is a tad too regular... but color etc are near perfecto. give it a little stripage, in a darker/warmer color... and a few scratches eh?

It's referring to the rana fragments from amphibians, and it's capitalized because that's how the Jurassic Park scientists listed it in their computer program.

They must have ****ed it up in the movie then because it's RNA that transcribes for proteins.

RANA, is latin. It's the latin word for the genus or family name of frogs (I forget which it is... genus, I believe). Ie, referring to the classification system. The chances of Crichton being accidentally wrong on something are slim to nil. (Check the bibliographies... it's amazing any books got written considering the amount of research behind them.)

As for the model, more of a Deinonychus than a Velociraptor body. (The raptor has a longer, more boxlike snout (Bit thinner too...)
The forearms look a little long. Not too much, but a bit. The toes should probably be thinner. The foot seems kinda thick and heavy how it is. Should be more light, more like a bird's foot.

beautiful. I like the skin, it's spot on. Though I do think the foot is a tad bit big. And the muscles in the legs rock. Nice job thrawn, and graves.

Rana is frog, not RANA. RANA is an acronym. That's why I asked if he meant rana. Crichton being wrong is indeed very slim. He's an MD isn't he? And I thought Thrawn said that's what the screen said in the movie, maybe I misunderstood.

It's part of the scene in the book (not the movie) where they find out that the dinosaurs with amphibian DNA are breeding, and the computer says "DNA Incorporating RANA Fragments..." and lists all the breeding dinosaurs. I'm guessing it was capitalized because it was easier to read, or all the titles in their DNA catalogue were capitalized, or something. Crichton wasn't wrong, as when the characters refer to it in normal conversation it's not in caps.

The only mod I can think of that would be feasible would be a ladder-type level where you play as Muldoon in the jungle with a shotgun, and you shoot at bigger and bigger raptors. :p
