Add some pillboxes, machine gun nests, barbed wire and artillery shells exploding in the sky and I'll be happy (that's what I was expecting when I entered this thread)! :D

Thanks. :) I made it in photoshop. Sketched it out with the mouse, even, haha. My scanner is broken.

Sorry, Daft_Vader, the original plan had a little hint of past violence, but I went in a different direction with it. ;)

That's rather good. But I wouldn't have guessed that it was a trench if the title hadn't said so. It just looks like it could be any old ditch, usually they would have been supported by logs.

Anyhow, I like the the snapped branch and the root piercing into the trench and casting the shadow.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

That's very impressive! I was expecting something else, when I entered the thread, that's true, but I don't mind. It's a very fine picture.

For Thrawn42689, you could perhaps add just one dinosaur there... It should be enough :p

Awesome work!

What I'd add to it is a war medal laying in the trench. (As if thrown there by its owner in shock, rage, terror and grief.)
