don't feel bad casperhead.. I could tell it was the sun... and I don't know who it was, but I can't believe someone actually thought the earth revolved around the moon.
BTW, the picture looks really good for MS PAINT.

...why don't you try a real paint program? The GIMP is free and far better than the garbage you're using.

Maybe his point was to USE MS PAINT... no one wants to see another boring skybox or sky render from a classy photo program.. it's like I said all along... ANYONE can make something look cool with a classy program, but it takes a real artist to make something cool with a crap program.. which is exactly why I never switched from JK to JO or JA. I think it's a very cool pic.

Because using a crap program yields crap. Just because people use Photoshop for example, does not mean they aren't doing any work. And I'm fairly certain he's using Paint and Photo Editor because he doesn't have anything better, I believe he's mentioned it before.

Okay, first of all, I know for a fact that Paint has a "circle" tool. Use it. That sun is the fugliest circle I've ever seen.

Next, for the love of Brian, use something OTHER than Paint to do your jpeg compression for you.

Thirdly, you definitely need to fix the "black and darker black" circle of stuff around the sun. It looks... well, it looks like you were trying to cover something up, but used a different colour of black to do it.

The other stars don't look right. Either you are looking at the sun through an atmosphere, in which case the stars would look "fuzzy" like that, but the background wouldn't be black. Or, if you are looking at it from space, the other stars would just look like points.

Now for some constructive stuff:

The way you have different shades on the sun looks really neat. Perhaps you could add some even darker places for sunspots.

Oooh, here's an idea. Put a solar flare or prominence coming off the surface of the sun.

Anyways, it's pretty good for MSPaint.

Peoples lack of knowlege for astronomy real makes me think what this worlds coming too. Hell most of the mindless teenage idiots at my school can't even think beyond the town I live in much less outside the earths atmosphere, and past our star system. My Utopia project proved it. For one Im in honors english so this is pretty sad. Here we go. First when I told a few class mates that my utopia would be in space. Imediatly two ask 'What planet is it going to be on?' Then I say "Uhhh no planets up in space." When I presented it one girl asked what the blue ball was on the front cover. I simply said your standing on that blue ball right now. And those are honor students??

The degradation of our education system angers me.

- He didn't discover relativity, he proposed a special theory of relativity.
- I can't figure out if you're trying to say Einstein didn't have good grammar, or if you're trying to say he sucked at math.
- On a related note, I can't find the connection you seem to have established between grammar and math.

In conclusion, choose a more developed [thing] next time.

Here's one I made. Sure it's nothing spectacular, but take note of some of the things I've done to make it look more realistic.

• The stars are one pixel.
• The stars have varying brightness, to simulate distance.
• The sun is a perfect circle.
• The sun has a simple gradient to give it a glowy look.
• The glowy yellow shading thing is more evenly dispersed.
