Original design (I hope :P) for an unnamed project.

Like I said, barrel and scope look fine, other parts look really off though

While simple, I like it.

Though, the handle[?] seems a bit too thick to be worth hanging onto.

Reminds me of Halo.

just make the barrel a longer then put some legs on it for long distance sniping, something like that one on Trigun but not so long :P

So just blowing our minds with TDiR isn't enough? :D

It looks like a sten sniper rifle. Are those shadows on it part of the skin or just from the render?
2004-12-30, 7:40 PM #7
It's all on the skin, its at 100% self illumination.

You need to raise the scope off the body of the gun, because in real life you could never view through the scope comfortably.

Erm, I mean.. that's one fancy gun model. =D Nice and futuristic.

I love the look of it. But there's two things that bother me..

First, the grip is too thick to be of any use.

Second, the scope is misplaced. On a normal rifle, the butt end of the scope should be at least close if not aligned with the butt plate. If there's a stock or foldable stock, it's base starts a bit lower, to allow room for the user to actually look into it. On a design like this, the scope would be a bit on the side, rather than being on top of the gun. It's still on top, so that the barrel doesn't block your view, but at an angle from the main body.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

In addition to what Flex said, there really doesn't seem to be any reason for the magazine to be so far forwards. Seeing as it's supposed to be as accurate a weapon as possible, wouldn't you want to have the bullet travel inside the barrel for as long as possible? Also, how is the slightly uncomfortable stock going to be collapsible if it has the solid lower bar?

Very competent work though, considering the only things we can critique on are technicalities. It's a relief to see someone actually skin their models too :)
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

Nice. I would have said it better for the rifle itself to be bullpup, with the clip behind the trigger and possibly thinned a little. That trigger also looks bloody uncomfortable.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I think it looks neat. But it seems to be a little hassle to reload.

I really like it, both the model and textures. Has a futuristic sort of look, like maybe something James Bond would use 15 years from now. ;)

It looks good... but it also looks impractical. The clip appears to be exactly where you would want to hold the barrel if you were lining up a shot.

you assume the clip gets hot like traditional SRs.

Sooo... any update?
2005-01-02, 7:19 PM #19
Nope, simply because I'm already happy with it. Its supposed to be futuristic. The bottom of the clip is designed to be the left hand grip, Makes for quick reloading. The scope is angled to the left of the top, if you cant tell. And its meant to look cool, lol.

But here's my hoverbike concept I plan to model eventually.

I'll say what no one else has the balls to say--stop breathing.

It's nice, looks a whole lot like Halo's sniper rifle, and I can't pin down why. Should work for whatever game you're making it for, though
