No offense, but nothing seems to grab attention in this background. The color and effects seem a bit dull.

er how would that strike offense? thats just an observation. not like you made a jab at his mom or something.

i think you should go with 3, larger frames of that instead of 4 skinnier ones. you can show more in the vertical aspect and try and have it happen from later in the video(so its full anakin face for the last pic)

other than that i dunno. i never really liked bronze stuff, so i dunno. maybe try red for vader and orange for the anakin stuff.

Wallpapers that grab attention are only annoying imho. At least this thing allows you to still see your icons and stuff.

I went with the 4 smaller ones because the I wanted the focus to mainly be the eyes. Originally, I had 5.




Yeah, bronze isn't the best. I wanted it to be a more dull background, but I think i'll change it to greyish.

Here is an updated version, grey, but with color on the eyes so it has a little bit of something to focus on.

I'm also thinking of adding some text, something like "Evil has a new name". Let me know what you think.

Try it with the third bar only taking out the top two and the one on the bottom, just leave the rest as negative space.

It's a tad more bland than I like my wallpapers. Still, nice nonetheless.

Aargh, no text. I hate text on backgrounds. Also I'd mirror the image on it's vertical axis, so that Vader is not covered with ugly icons...

The attention is pulled to the background (those freaky eyes guy), and i think it needs to be pulled to darth vader, try to add more attention pulling thingy's on darth vader

both of them look nice. wallpapers shouldn't be the main focus of your desktop, so subtle colors are your friend. i'd personally leave the text out of it.. it looks fine without it.

Now of course, I do recognise and acknowledge your 2000 registration date, but the post count (or posts per day) is what reflects how active you are in the community, imo. That's what counts, not how long you've lurked, no offence.

[Edit: Brian, could you perhaps post an even HIGHER res version? I use 1280x1024... if you make it that res you should do 1280x960 instead imo which will keep the proper 4:3 ratio... or just do 1600x1200 and make even the 50" monitor nuts happy.

Also, I know you weren't asking for this, but your site is pretty good graphically, I like it. Only thing I recommend is you might wanna consider A) not using ZIPs for the wallpapers but just linking to the full JPEG or whatever, and B) I think it would look cool if you displayed the wallpapers as thumbnails on the download page rather than just plaintext links. Just some ideas.]

I think the rounded face of darthy kind of contrasts too much with the horizontal stripes, maybe you could take that on board if nobody else has already said it (I wanted to give my opinion, so I missed out their comments )

looks good otherwise, you don't always need a high level of contrast remember.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. I just redid the site, and I think I like it so far. That is a good idea for the wallpapers. I have them zipped to cut down on space usage (since I am using geocities) but most of them don't change too much in size. I may just upload the full sized jpgs. I'll make some thumbnails to put with them too. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Oh, and I have a 1600x1200 image if you want it.
